Anyone have any advice on how to cook copious amounts of food that have a longer shelf life than a couple of days?

Coming from a smallish guy whose gained a small bit, I'm wondering what tripped the trigger of your guys' gaining? Like at what point did you actively decide, yes this is something I want to do? I'm a bit unsure. I kind of like my body the way it is, but I love getting stuffed by other people. I'm just curious as to how it would feel to have a bigger body. Advice on taking the leap anyone?
