Every day Lance paid Ed a visit. Some days for lunch, some days for dinner, and some for an entire day! The two really developed a friendly relationship with eating food together, creating a nice friendship of sorts.
These frequent visits not only impacted their friendship, but it also impacted Lance’s waistline. He started to appear plumper than before and his clothes began to tighten, but Lance didn’t seem to mind that at all. He never had an athletic body and wasn’t planning on working for one any time in the future. If he gained an extra couple pounds, so be it. One day, the two actually had a conversation about the matter.
“It looks like every day, you come on by with an even bigger appetite!” Ed commented.
 “I can’t help it!” Lance said. “Your cooking is too good!”
“Be careful though,” Ed said. “You wouldn’t want to end up looking like me!”
“No offense, but I doubt that’ll happen,” Lance blushed. “An extra pound here and there never hurt anyone.”
“I’m glad you say that! I’ve been meaning to have you try this dessert, but it’s very rich in calories. I didn’t know if you’d be willing to have some though.”
“What is it?”
“It’s a simple cake! Strawberry flavored. I think you might like it.”
When Ed brought the large cake out, Lances cut himself a slice. Upon taking his first bite, he was absolutely in love. He ate the entire cake without leaving even a crumb left.
“That was a good call!” Lance said. “It was delicious!”
 “I’m glad you liked it, bud! I’ll definitely make sure to make more of those in thee future. And now that I know keeping your figure isn’t the most important thing on your mind, I can finally make some of my special family recipes for you. I’ll make sure I don’t overdo them, don’t worry. Wouldn’t want you to get as big as me!”
“Haha,” Lance laughed. “Stop worrying, I’m sure you’re exaggerating! I wouldn’t want you to change the recipe just for me.”
“Gosh darn, you’re just too thoughtful, kiddo! Whatever you say,” he said. “Just wait until tomorrow!”
