chapter 2 • dinner

Back at the dorm, all you can hear is girls talking and going in from one room to another. Our RA had a small meeting with us. It covered the rules of the dorm, expectations, and all that stuff they are told to tell us. She created a group chat with all of us in it so she could gives us updates or news.

We Julie and I decide to join the girls next door to us for dinner since they are meeting up with one of the girls friends from high school and his new friends. Now that boys are involved, Julie and I decide to change to try and impress not only them but other guys at the dining hall. You never know who you'll meet.

I end up wearing high waisted pants and and a crop top. It's cute and will hide my stomach incase I over eat like the morning.

Once at the dining hall, we find where the guys are and they already have their drinks. We introduce ourselves first before we get food.

The dining hall has a pasta, salad, pizza, sandwich, and special meal stations. I'm not afraid of the freshman 15 since i don't a lot anyways, but I am afraid of the comments my new group of friends will make when they see how little food is on my plate. I decide to get as much food as Julie does. That means I get the pasta with breadstick. Portion wise I would only eat half of what they gave me, but I guess I will have to eat more than that today. I decide to get lemonade for my drink.

Once at the table, I am shocked at the amount of food the guys got. I will never understand how guys can eat so much and not gain weight.

We all finish our food and drinks and begin to talk about different things and begin to get to know each other better. Being too focused on the conversation, I don't realize the slight discomfort my stomach is in. We decide to get some dessert. I go for the fro-yo because i truly love fro-yo and it's one of the foods I never limit myself of. I might have served myself a little too much but I don't mind. We all take our desserts to go, and decide to go for a drive and explore the town at night.

We split up into two cars with the guys driving their cars. Julie and I end up riding with two guys name Alex and Nate. Alex being the one driving since Nate and Julie seem to have hit it off nicely. I end up sitting up front with Alex while Nate and Julie talk with each other in the back. It's a little awkward between Alex and I, but we also get to talk and get to know each other better.

We end up meeting up with the other car, and find ourselves at the bridge downtown where other freshmen are at. We end up taking pictures together. We end up deciding to going back to dorms and watching a movie in one of the dorm rooms.

We had dinner at 7:00 pm and by the time we get back to the dorms it's 11:30 and the guys order pizza while we decided what movie to watch. They end up ordering 4 pizzas for each of the newly formed pairs. Julie with Nate, Destiny with Mark, Jess with Thomas, and me with Alex.

Once the pizza arrives we are 30 minutes into the movie, and we all eat the pizza mindlessly. Especially me, having finished two slices already. As I am halfway though my third slice, I realize how tight my pants feel. I decide to finish that slice and the soda I have left.

Surprisingly, we have all come to be comfortable with one another in just this short time of being together. I look around the room and see Julie and Nate cuddling as well as all her, Destiny, and Jess with their pants undone. I decide to undo my pants as well letting my stomach breathe after all the food I have eaten and all the soda I have had.

As I do so, I get in a more comfortable position. Once the movie finishes everyone is fast asleep except for Alex and I. The both of us end up getting pillow and blankets for the others.

Then I hear Alex chuckle. I look up at him with a confused look. "Sorry, it's just that I find it funny how all of the girls had to undo your pants," he ends up saying with a small chuckle at the end. I then grab a pillow covering my small round belly. "If it makes you feel any better, us guys also have had to undo our pants."

"agh.. it's so embarrassing though," I tell him feeling my face turn red.

Alex and I end up sitting on one of the beds with our backs against the wall talking before we end up falling asleep as well. I wake up in the middle of the night with a blanket on me and an arm wrapped around my waist holding me tight. I lay there for a moment feeling Alex's arms moving as I breathe. I also feel his stomach push against my back each time he breathed. I end up falling back asleep, and I end up dreaming about Alex.
