The Diet Starts Tomorrow

Chapter 1

"Nina, are you serious?"

Nina froze, a half-eaten honeybun suspended midway to its intended target. She set it down gingerly and turned slowly, hoping against reason that her certainly scowling boyfriend somehow wouldn’t see the flurry of empty wrappers scattered across the kitchen island.

She smiled sheepishly, caught.

“I got hungry?” she offered, knowing her excuse was both overused and less than convincing.

“You got hungry?” Kyle repeated incredulously, indicating to the evidence of her binge behind her.

He reached over and plucked one of the torn open wrappers from behind her, the cellophane crinkling as he turned it to read its nutritional label.

“These are 400 calories Nina, you don’t take down two and a half boxes of them cause you’re hungry.”

She looked down, ashamed at his acculturation analysis.

“You have to stop all this gluttony, this constant pigging out behind my back whenever you can. You know what we talked about, and you agreed.”

“But I didn’t wanna agree,” Nina protested.

“But you agreed,” Kyle insisted, taking a step closer to her.

“It’s what’s best for you, we both know that,” he said, reaching out to rest a hand on the heavily protruding gut pushing out the front of her shirt and bulging free from the hemline, her fatty swell of belly hang wobbling at the light touch.

“God,” he marveled. “It’s like you've gotten even bigger since we put you on this diet.”

Nina blushed, unsuccessfully shrinking back from his touch and trying futilely to pull her shirt low enough to cover her mass. It sprang back up further than it had been positioned before and she sighed, unable to deny Kyle’s assertion.

She was bigger. Obviously so, despite Nina’s denial and avoidance of scales, mirrors, or pants with buttons.

“I don’t think so,” she lied, unable to meet his gaze. “I think the diet is working.”

His other hand had found its way to her belly and both were now exploring her expanse, making his way down her body with gentle caresses and pats that left her jiggling all over.

“So many new stretch marks,” he murmured, gripping her fleshy, swollen love handles that were bulging over the obviously constricting waistline of her sweatpants.

He shook his head quickly as if clearing his thoughts and dropped his hands to his sides, fixing her with the more serious gaze he’d begun the conversation sporting.

“That doesn’t happen when the diet is working, does it?” he asked at a normal volume.

Nina shook her head, hoping she looked remorseful.

“Nina, this is the fourth time this week I've caught you doing this,” Kyle chided, clearly exasperated. “Your follow-up appointment is in a month, what is the doctor going to say when he sees you’re nowhere near your weight loss goals? I mean, he won’t even have to weigh you to know, he’ll just have to look at you. What are you gonna say to him?”

Nina nodded.

“No, I'm serious, what are you gonna say to him?” Kyle insisted. “Are you gonna admit that you’ve still been gorging yourself on all these little treats even though he gave you a very strict meal plan? Or are you just gonna do what you did in the first appointment and pretend that you have no idea how you got this fat.”

“What?” Nina scoffed indignantly, her facade of remorse dropping. “So I was just supposed to tell the doctor that a few months after we started dating you begged me to gain weight for you? That you told me it would be soooo hot, that it would just be a couple pounds?”

Kyle threw up his arms in defeat.

“Ok Nina, ok yes, it's my fault. I started this. But you’re the one who got way more into it than I did, you’re the one who said you should just let yourself go for a little while for us both to enjoy.”

“Well, who enjoyed it more?” Nina retorted.

“You!” Kyle all but cried. “Clearly and obviously you, look at yourself! You're sneaking in all these massive stuffings while I'm not even here and you’re asking who’s enjoying it more.”

“Yeah, I am,” Nina shot back. “Cause every time you catch me like this you can’t take your eyes off my belly and you start feeling me up. You can’t even go half a day without dragging me to the bedroom for a quickie, so yeah, I am asking.”

“Nina,” Kyle breathed in a sigh.

“I’m serious!” she exclaimed. “Whose idea was this, who started it, who benefits more? The answer to all those questions is you. And now you have me on this diet-”

“I don't have you on the diet,” Kyle interrupted. “The doctor does. The doctor has you on this diet because you’re…” he paused, trailing off.

“Because I'm what?” Nina demanded. “Why did the doctor say I needed to lose weight?”

“Because,” Kyle started weakly, suddenly avoiding Nina's gaze. “Well, because. You know why.”

“See?” said Nina with an accusatory point. “You can’t even say the word ‘obese’ without getting turned on. And I'm supposed to believe this is my fault.”

“It is your fault! You're the one putting on all this weight by yourself, I have nothing to do with it anymore. I make you healthy meals now and try to get you to go for walks. I don’t buy junk food anymore. I'm trying to help you get your weight under control!”

“And who let it get out of control in the first place? You were force-feeding me like you were trying to fatten up a pig and now you're surprised my appetite is a little bigger.”

“A little bigger? Nina, you’re deluding yourself. And you’re trying to distract from the issue at hand. It doesn't matter who started it, it matters that you drop enough weight before your next appointment to get a clean bill of health.”

“It's easy for you to say it doesn't matter. You still get to enjoy me waddling around the house with all the weight you put on me while I have to starve and suffer and eat celery sticks, it's completely unfair.”

Kyle's face softened.

“You don't waddle,” he said, reaching back out to her with a comforting hand.

“Yes I do,” she countered with a pout, shying away from his touch again.

“Baby, you're beautiful, you know that,” Kyle argued gently, taking a step closer and slipping his hand into hers. “Right? You know how beautiful I think you are, how perfect?”

Nina nodded, still pouting.

“But this isn't about me, it's about you. I love you for much more than what you look like, I love you for you and I just want you to be healthy, I don't want the stuff I'm into in the bedroom to make you sick.”

“But I'm not sick. I'm just fat.”

“Babe.” Kyle began. “The doctor said you’re officially, um, you know…”

“Obese?” Nina finished with an eye roll.

“Yes,” Kyle confirmed. “And he said you need to lose weight for your health, that you put on too much weight too quickly.”

It was Nina's turn to sigh, that fateful trip to the doctor's office not a day she preferred to reminisce on.

Nina, never the type to miss an annual physical before she’d gotten with Kyle, hadn’t been to the doctor in over a year, skipping her scheduled visit because of the new weight she’d started to put on with promises that she’d return the next year trimmed back down to size. She and Kyle had never planned to allow his less-than-usual interests to encroach upon their real lives in the way that it had, and when the next year rolled around with Nina's weight completely out of control, Kyle had insisted she follow through on her appointment.

They'd arrived at her primary care physician's office, Nina insisting they stop for a hearty fast food breakfast on the way to quit her nerves, and she’d filled out the required paperwork in an anxious rush, the arms of the waiting room chairs pressing into her plush, softened hips.

Kyle had accompanied her to the back for moral support and watched as her doctor took her in, shock evident all over his typically professional demeanor.

“Nina Waters?” he’d asked, his eyes flicking down to the clipboard in his hands and back up to the plumped-up woman jiggling her way down the hall.

She’d nodded, already mortified by the disbelief written all over his face.

“Wow, it's- it's been quite a while since I've last seen you I suppose,” the doctor acknowledged, fumbling through the sentence as he took her in. “Why don't you go ahead and hop up on the scale for me,” he said, indicating to the old-fashioned balance scale that had always intimidated Nina even when she was far thinner.

She’d gulped, looked back at Kyle for more support, and then stepped onto the black pad, eliciting metallic creaks from the scale and a quick intake of air from her doctor.

He slid the metal markers forward, then further forward, and even further forward, Nina's face reddening with each adjustment.

“So,” the doctor started slowly after a beat of silence, eyes glued to his clipboard in a clear effort to avoid direct contact with Nina's. “So, it seems you’ve put on about 96 pounds since your last exam.”

Nina felt her breath hitch in her throat.

“96 pounds?” she’d parroted in a whisper dripping with disbelief.

She shot an angry look back at Kyle, who was standing behind her with guilt written all too legibly across his expression.

They’d made it through the rest of the appointment with no problems, no mentions of her massive gain, but as the doctor brought things to a close, Nina still sitting on the waxy paper of the examination table, he’d cleared his throat meaningfully and fixed her with a look that made her heart sink. She wouldn't be getting out of this humiliating conversation.

“Nina,” her doctor began kindly. “You’ve really put on a lot of weight in the past two years. And considering the fact that your BMI already categorized you solidly within the distinction of overweight, your recent gain has been very significant, very damaging to your overall health.”

Kyle, sitting in another waiting room chair positioned opposite the examination table, was looking ashen and caught as if he was the target of the lecture, as if he’d been the one to blimp out without explanation.

“You’ve developed quite a bit of subcutaneous fat,” the doctor went on, gesturing to her body as a whole. “But particularly around your middle, which is one of the most dangerous places to have enormous accumulations of excess fat like this,” he said, startling her by sinking a single finger into the rounded, tubby mass of flab that was testing the integrity of her stretchiest tank top and forcing her thighs apart with its heft.

The overtaxed garment left very little to the imagination, and her bouncing, beach ball of a belly was covered by little else than the tightly clinging fabric, even her deepening belly button visible through the skimpy top. Her undersized bra dug into the stretchmark-riddled rolls of fat on her back, creating even more rolls on her sides and stacked atop the quivering muffin top of her overfed love handles.

Her plump, fleshy tits poured over the tops of the ill-fitting cups, bouncing hypnotically right alongside her belly whenever she moved, and the tightness of her bra’s band was evident, her poor excuse for a shirt exposing the straining clasp struggling to hold against the tidal wave of heavy breasts that threatened to burst free.

Her leggings, once a comfortable option that easily concealed just how tubby she’d been growing with its forgiving spandex that she could tug over her burgeoning gut, had grown too small more than a few pounds ago, and struggling into the skin-tight leggings had become a trying task, the seams creaking and screaming in protest as she stretched the fabric to translucency with her swollen thighs. No longer able to yank the painfully tight waistband over the swell of her gut, she simply tucked them underneath her belly hang and let her gut wobble freely, the thought of purchasing new clothes in a larger size somehow more offensive than allowing herself to be seen in public as the greedy porker that she really was.

Her legwear was as overtaxed as her poor tank top, and while a good bit of her new heft had gone directly to her middle, her lower half hadn’t been spared from the expansion by any means. Her enviable shelf of an ass had grown right alongside the rest of her, and she went from curvy, to thick, to absolutely stacked within a matter of months. Her ass only seemed to get rounder as it jutted out further and further and now the exaggeratedly sexual feature was as distracting as it was inconvenient, Nina suddenly finding herself unable to take a single step without feeling the weight of her posterior jiggle uncontrollably from side to side as she moved.

Her panties had all become unwearable overnight, and thongs were the only undergarments she could still force her way into without instantly tearing, the thin straps digging into her grippable love handles and emphasizing just how ill-fitting everything had become. Her thighs had grown to support her voluptuous new behind, and the combination of thighs that were getting too thick to force past one another comfortably, an oversized gut that somehow protruded far further than her perky, melon-sized breasts, and a titanic ass that attracted stares and attention wherever she went, Ninas walk had quickly become a slow, jiggling waddle.

Everything she did, even trying to heave herself up onto the examination table without making too much of an ordeal of the light exercise, just exposed how large she’d grown, how addicted she’d become to Kyle’s stuffing and praise, and the obsession he had with her ever fattening figure.

“Weight gain at this scale and degree concerns me for several reasons,” the doctor went on, still examining the pliability of her belly fat with an investigatory hand. “When patients get this large at such an accelerated rate it has a myriad of impacts that have worrying implications for your long-term health, not to mention the factors that lead to such rapid gains are often themselves indicators of a more serious underlying health concern. Would you say your increased appetite was brought on by anything specific?”

Nina shook her head quickly, avoiding glancing in Kyle’s direction as if acknowledging his presence would somehow expose the sexual proclivities that had led to the doctor's inquiry.....
