You Were Fit, Now You’re Mine

Chapter 1

Amber.
Her name was already a brand.
Her naturally golden hair, blue eyes, and a body seemingly carved with perfection… A flawless figure earned through years of dedication. As she walked through the school hallways, heads turned, whispers rose, and breaths were held. All the boys stared at her with desire, and the girls with jealous glances. Amber wasn’t just beautiful; she was smart, successful, and kind. A teacher’s favorite, the center of her friend group, and the unreachable dream of her admirers.

Sometimes people thought no one that perfect could really exist. But Amber was real. And her life resembled a fairy tale: She dressed the best. Got the most likes. Scored the highest grades. Life always smiled upon her.

But…
Every beauty has a flaw.
Amber’s was large, obvious, and anything but charming: A deep hatred for fat people. A belief engraved into her brain by her family’s teachings. Fatness was the greatest sin, the ultimate ugliness…

No matter how kind she was, her smile would freeze the moment she encountered someone overweight, and her gaze would sharpen with judgment. She was cruel to them, even a bully. She mocked, belittled, and ridiculed them. And the strange part was, the person she directed this hatred towards the most… was her best friend.

Becca.

The complete opposite of Amber.
Overweight, glasses-wearing, introverted… A girl who had lived her entire life in Amber’s shadow. People only knew her as “Amber’s fat friend.” She had no other friends, no courage. But there was something inside her that had grown for years: jealousy.

Becca both loved and hated Amber. She envied her beauty, her ability to draw attention, the way everything she wore looked perfect… She envied everything about her.
And Amber knew this. She always kept Becca’s deepest wound fresh and bleeding:
“Becca, maybe don’t try that skirt… It’s not fair to your legs.”
“No, we’ll walk. Becca will already be out of breath.”

Amber would say it all with a smile. As if it were a joke, as if there were no malice… But Becca engraved every word into her heart. She would go home and eat even more out of anger.

High school days continued like this—until a boy named Lucas came to school. A boy so godlike he practically glowed. He was so muscular and fit that he sparkled. With his black hair and piercing gaze, he stepped into the schoolyard. His careless attitude made him look so cool and attractive. All the girls sat and stared at him. Amber also wondered what was going on and began to watch. He was the most attractive boy she had ever seen. She noticed Becca looking at him too and nudged her arm.

“Hey fatty! Take your eyes off him. He’s going to be mine.”
“Okay, sorry. It’s not like someone that handsome would ever have a chance with someone like me.”
“Good girl.”

Amber had been thinking about Lucas ever since he arrived. She was used to every guy treating her like a queen, and Lucas acting like she didn’t even exist was driving her crazy. She had made up her mind. She was going to get him under her spell. No matter what it took.
