Chapter 1 - The factory
The building was large and immaculate. Diane had never seen anything quite like it. The sign on the front was the only thing to make any person think this was an old place, as it proclaimed in fading neon, "The Pie House". Diane looked at the small scrap of paper clutched in her hand. Yes, everything checked out.Normally, she would never have replied to the Help wanted ad in the paper. However, with her landlord breathing down her neck for rent, she had no choice. Ever since she had been let go from her previous job due to cutbacks, she had been having difficulty keeping ahead of the bills. So, of course she was surprised when she saw this ad, neatly tucked away:
Are you in need of work? Have you run out of places to go to? More importantly, do you have a sweet tooth? If you said yes to any or all of these, contact the Pie House. We are a state of the art facility, selling quality pies and other delicious goods? What do we want from you? Contact us with your resume and we can find something for you!
It was an odd ad among all of the business type job descriptions, but that was why it had caught her eye. Diane sat on it for a while, then decided that she had nothing to lose and everything to gain from the decision. She had sent a quick email, and had received a rapid reply, congratulating her. She had been given a job, no questions or interview required. That set off some alarm bells, but Diane had figured it would be better if she waited until she started work to worry about it. Plus, the fact she was being paid more than twice her previous salary was enough to push any fears out of her mind.
Diane made her way to the front door of the building. She was surprised to see that there were no guards anywhere. It wasn't early in the day, and there was only one car in the parking lot. On a second glance, she noticed that the car parked was a Lamborghini. She got excited at that point; maybe she would be able to get a car like that at some point. The front door was locked, and she could see an ID reader at the side of the entrance. She got discouraged, but at that point, she saw someone move inside.
A young man walked up to the front door and opened it for her, graciously holding it open for her. She gave him a quick once over, and liked what she saw. He was tall and lean, with a face that reminded her of several different movie stars. He was dressed in a t-shirt and jeans, and Diane suddenly felt overdressed. She had put on a form-fitting shirt which showed off her ample cleavage and mostly flat stomach, as well as a half-skirt which was smug around her moderately small butt.
The man seemed to notice this as well. He extended his hand in welcome. "Hi there, you must be Diane. I'm James Koller, CEO of the Pie House. I must say, you look great, but you won't have to worry about dressing up too much here. We are the only employees here."
