Ever so Slightly

Chapter 1 - Someone you used to know

You ever have someone you used to remember fondly? Someone who was very close to you and you remember almost every detail about them. All the little tiny things that only someone who you know loves and respects you would remember because they're just that kind of person. Well what if that person disappeared on you, like they almost seemed to never exist at all. You're only left with the memories and over time you only hold on to the memory of who you thought they were.

Well what if you knew that person came back. You remembered them so fondly of who they were and couldn't wait to have them apart of your life once again, like a missing piece you never knew that you could be missing. Only, they aren't the person you remembered at least not in the way that you had built up in your head for years holding on to only that memory. They were different and not in the ways you could've possibly imagined. Most would be left skeptical about them or unsure of their own true feelings about them or what they feel inside of themselves, some would turn the other cheek, choose to forget. Fortunately I am not most and what they came back as was even better than you could've hoped for.

That person who you would remember fondly. The one who would be joined at the hip with you. The one who would've left and took a piece of you that you didn't even know existed. As well as the one who came back different than before but better and more about who they always wanted to be. That person for me happened to be a girl and her name was Haley Thorne.

Before all of that came one fated day at work. Not the fanciest job by any means, I mean after all it was just a packing center for yet another large corporate conglomerate. Packing everyone's orders that all range from practical, impractical, freaky, cute, and frankly just downright disturbing. In the middle of that was me, Will Gabriel, another cog in someone's machine, but don't get me wrong it wasn't like I hated it there or anything.

Of course I got it initially to just pay my bills and kinda just stuck with it for the next 2 years. Definitely wasn't glamorous by any means but hey at least I wasn't rotting at some desk job, sitting on my ass for 8 hours just to sleep and redo the same thing. It got me moving and also helped me meet a lot of people and just talk to them for hours on end. I had never been the best at conversation, I always preferred just hearing other peoples stories than spit out random nonsense. Of all the people I had met and come to be friends with, then came Haley.

It was her first day at the place, i didn't even know that she would change my life forever, i guess no one ever really does when something like that happens. I knew we had a new hire that was showing up that day but i was quickly called to my managers office shortly after arriving that morning. I found her office and knocked on the door.

"Oh perfect! Will! There you are, come on in!" She had chimed, as I creaked it open and shyly took a seat keeping my back straight and hands held together in my lap, nervously playing with my thumb.

"Hi Courtney, s-sorry, a-am I in t-trouble or something?" I sheepishly let out.

"Oh heavens no! Sorry if I had given you that impression." A wave of relief had washed over me, I had never been particularly good with confrontation.

"So as you know we have a brand new hire that's starting today, and normally I would be the one showing them around, but as a new company initiative they want the employees to help with that and I was thinking that you were the most optimal pick" she said as she got up out of her chair and stood up.

"Will, you've been here at the center for almost 3 years now and I trust you to show them around seeing as you get along well with your other co-workers."

I put my shoulders back "Yeah of course, I'll see to it when they get here! Oh wait, when are they supposed to show?"

Just as I said that we both heard a voice outside the office, Courtney had perked up already walking towards the door. "Well it sounds like she just got here!" She opened the door and I tried to see who it was past her. "It's nice to see you again Haley, oh and this is Will, he's going to be showing you around today!"

Just then Courtney stepped out of the way, and I finally met her, Haley Thorne, and I knew instantly she would be part of my life for as long as I live. I didn't know how but I just knew that she would be.

She had auburn hair that curled near the ends. She was wearing a white shirt with long black sleeves and jeans that had rips throughout them. She was wearing brown tights underneath her jeans visible through the rips. She also had a silver nose ring in her right nostril.

She was already insanely beautiful but as I kept examining her I saw every shape and curve on her body. She was curvy, not chubby by any means but definitely not thin. Her hips were wide and had thicker thighs, almost touching but not quite there. Her arms were thick and a little bit plump as it hugged the fabric of her sleeves. She had what looked like DD sized boobs. Her stomach came out a bit, it wasn't fully a belly or even a muffin top but you could tell as it hugged her shirt which was tucked into her jeans which were strained by her wide hips and big behind. It was hard to tell if those rips in her jeans were for style or if she had actually ripped them.

She had reached her hand out and I did in turn and we both shook hands, they were incredibly soft.

I was getting lost in her hazel eyes, almost to the point where I couldn't tell how long I had been staring like a doofus when Courtney spoke again. "Alright, I'll let him show you around now, I hope you two are able to work together well. Have a good first shift Haley and I'll check back with you two at the end of the day!"

We both had stared at each other and flashed a smile to Courtney as we walked away to get started.
