My feeling so far

I think this site is mainly about acceptance.

It's not, really- while there's fat-related acceptance to be found here, and it should be great for it, it's not. FF promotes fat positivity, but is at its core very much a fetish site, so it attracts a lot of people who are here just for that element and who assume that all others are here for their specific turn-ons.

This is a common issue, really. One only needs to look at the countless threads by women complaining about the inappropriate messages they've received, or such posts in threads started by men whining about how their messages get ignored; a lack of acknowledging someone's profile information, or what they are (or, more specifically, aren't) into, or any of that stuff, is a major issue with a pretty significant portion of the members here, and it's something that's needed to be addressed for a long time.

EDIT: And I really want to note that this is not a criticism towards you at all, littlemermaid- but you do have a view of what FF is that's not quite in line with what it actually entails regarding acceptance.

I'm a feminist

To say a man cannot be a feminist is like saying the only people who can cure cancer are those who have cancer.

For me, we can all support equality. I don't care if your male, female or you choose not to have a gender, the choice is yours and your support is welcome.

People have also asked me why i'm a feminist? I always answer; I was raised by a single mother, the question ought to be how could I be anything but a feminist?

While I agree with you for the most part, I do also feel that it's not a man's place to interject himself into spaces where women are (and should be) the main focus and in control. So I defer to the women in feminist spaces on whether or not I should call myself a feminist, or a feminist ally, or something else; it is antithetical if I identify myself in a way that makes women uncomfortable.

I will, in general, call myself a feminist, because that's a quick and easy identifier of my basic beliefs here, but if asked to do otherwise by feminist women, I'm more than happy to change that label in their spaces.

My mom and bro are like that smiley

They accept my preference but they don't like fat

My mom works for the NHS so she finds fat disgusting and my bro is just a gay b!tch

My dad not so much....But I hate it when my family would see a fat person on the beach or something and say somthing like " Ugh thats disgusting, they should be covered up"

I'm the only true fat supporter in my family

Are you the only homophobe in your family too, or does everyone use "gay" as an insult?

If you want facts and examples of rape culture, we can discuss how a minute fraction of rapists actually serve jail time; or the pressure that is put on women to not charge someone with rape after they have been raped; or the extensive history of covering up rape cases involving college athletes; or how a significant majority of college-aged men admitted to coercing or forcing a woman to have sex with them without calling it rape; or how women are told to follow a particular set of rules to not get raped instead of more effort being made to get men to not rape.

I could go on, but hopefully you get the basic idea about this here. This isn't any sort of an all-inclusive list or anything, just mentioning a handful of examples of what "rape culture" actually entails in western society.

ITT: men who do not understand feminism yell at feminists in order to prove that women are not as oppressed as they claim to be, because men can have their feelings hurt too and "equality" is just a better idea than gender superiority.

Embaressment of being caught

Additionally Danny's talking about people passing by as he's got it up on his browser, not going into a deep discussion about it.

If you claim to be willing to be seen with a fat woman in public but are mortified at the thought of someone possibly seeing that you're on a fat-positive website, you've got some serious cognitive dissonance to work out.

To the OP: So... It's okay to call another man "a pussy" for keeping his SSBBW girlfriend a secret (referring to your response to the "embarrassed by your SSBBW" thread), but it's also okay to keep your visiting FF a secret? Could you please explain this to me? Sounds like you'd be embarrassed to bring your SSBBW home to meet the family. Or am I missing something here? Please remember that a vast percentage of the members of FF are actually fat people, and they are real people, with feelings and all that, not paid BBW/SSBBW models* or the male equivalent thereof.

*disclaimer: paid models are real people with feelings too. But you catch my drift.

This is a very good point.

No its not! Theres a difference between keeping your partner secret from friends and keeping fetishy nuances and pornography hidden from your friends...

Some people are thin, some are fat, that doesn't matter from a normal social perspective... it doesnt matter if you meet someone from here or in normal life at the end of the day they're your partner, not your fetish and the latter is unimportant outside of this site or the bedroom

Theres nothing wrong with hiding FF, a subscription to BigCuties or "feeding the Obeast" any more than hiding a draw full of butt plugs, or even any online dating profile, if its not a context you want yourself or your relationship to be seen in... And judging by all the headless photos most members are happy to be discreet

A majority of FF is just fat-positive rather than just exploring the various nuances and intricacies of the fetish. To qualify the whole thing as a fetish site when there's so much of it that's just fat people existing as fat people is just ridiculous.

No, friends and family don't have to be privy to what I masturbate to, but so much of this site is not that, unless you're sexually aroused by unappealing color themes.

If something like your dining companion eating less than you in a restaurant even features on a list of things that are more important than the crapload of stuff which makes a great, worthwhile, loving relationship, then you shouldn't be in a relationship. People who feel like that should hire themselves a BBW escort and save some poor woman's feelings.

Frame this and hang it on the ***ing wall so you can point to it whenever some *** comes in making such sentiments as this post addresses.
