Kelly's lesson

Chapter 2

She took out her MP3 player and placed the headphones into her ears. It was another hot day. Her journey took her on her usual route through the park on this beautiful morning.

“Excuse me,” said someone behind her. Startled she turned around quickly. In front of her was a women in a red dress with long black hair. She was about 30 and was very pretty. It all seemed a little surreal though. Kelly couldn’t help wonder why a women in a very expensive dress was wandering about a park at 8.00 on a Friday morning.

“Is your name Kelly by any chance?”

“Yes,” she said uneasily, “how do you know my name?” The women began to speak in more of a wisper now.

“Oh my little secret. I take it you don’t know me?”

“No, sorry, I don’t,” replied Kelly politely.

“Well that doesn’t matter. I’m not sure if you are aware of this but people are always bad mouthing me. But I’m only trying to help. Well most of the time,” she said giggling.

“Most of the time?” though Kelly.

“But anyway I’m here because you appear to have it in for a certain group of people.” Kelly didn’t know what she was on about, in her eyes she had never had any grudges against anyone.

“You don’t remember do you? What if I were to remind you of that report you have in that backpack of yours there sweetie.” Kelly was so confused, who was this women, what was she doing here and how did she know she had that report in her bag. “From what I know you don’t seem to have a whole lot of respect for those with a larger figure.”

Kelly was traditionally a shy person, but she stood up for her beliefs when she thought she was right, and this time she was convinced she was. “ Yeh… well… fat people obviously… obviously don’t care about themselves.” She said trying to build a case for herself.

“So you genually think fat is bad?” Kelly nodded. “Many of my friends are fat, are you saying their a bad people.”

“Well… No.”

“Exactly, your persecuting people through what they look like. Very shallow I would say. People like you should be taught a lesson. In fact that’s what I’m going to do. I’m sure it will be a worth while one.”

Kelly looked bemused and felt like laughing at her. She had no idea what she was talking about. Still, she felt a bit nervous. And how the hell did she know about that report.

“Oh Kelly, I knew you wouldn’t agree. You’re going to bring the devil out in me aren’t you? The women began to chant doing so with a somewhat evil smile across her face, “Oh Kelly you have wonderful skin, but I’m afraid it’s true you’ve committed a sin. Boys love your stomach, it’s completely flat. But lets find out what its like to be fat!” And with that the women turned around and started to walk away, leaving Kelly to stand there totally bemused. After sometime she finally turned around and continued her walk to school.
