The color orange

chapter 2

Its only a month into my first semester at college, and here I am getting up late for class by thirty minuets. When I was back home I was a straight A student, with a cupple Bs that my family made me feel disappointed with. But hey I was in AP classes they were hard! I share a quad with Maggie, we meet shortly after we both moved in, she and I quickly became good friends. It was her idea to go out last night, she told me she would introduce me to two of her friends and here I am quickly grabbing clothes as I get read to run out the door.

We went out to celebrate the end of a week of tests for the majority of us, a late dinner at Scelus Sceleris. Apparently its a dive that locals go to a lot around here, it was damn good food to. Maggie said that it was on her, I didn't order the most expensive items on the menu but, I feel a little bad that I over did it a little bit. We were there for hours just talking and unwinding trying different types of appetizers and not to mention the waiter was kind of hot. I couldn't really keep my eyes off him, he was always smiling to.

"Heres the refill on that milkshake, I'll be back shortly with the meals. Is there anything I can get any of you in the mean time?" he was smiles all smiles but they seemed genuine. It seemed that he smiled a little more every time he looked at Sarah too, Maggie was more then happy to point it out when he turned away and was out of ear shot.

"He is so totally flirting with you Sarah!" she practically giggled over the table, at least she had the decency to lower her voice.

"Ya right, a guy that cute flirting with me?" I was never really one to have a large ego. Everyone always told me I was a catch but I've just never felt that way.

"Come on Sarah, every time he looks at you that smile of his grows. Its obvious he thinks your hot." Maggie always disagreed with me when it came to guys.

"Maybe hes just being friendly in hopes of a tip?" I said in more of a question then I meant.

"His name is Jason, hes a bit older then you if anything. I think hes like 28 or so." David pipped up, temporally detangling his lips from his girlfriend Elisabeth. David was Maggie's friend and fancied himself a player and bro. Some times I found him to be incredible funny, sometimes down right annoying. Most of the time I was glad he took the center of attention rather then myself.

"There is no way hes 28! Come on look at him he looks like he can't be older then like 24. Are you sure about that David?" Maggie seemed almost shocked about this little fact, but out of all of us David was the local one and had lived here all his life. For the most part we took his word what ever it may be. My own surprise though unspoken did mirror Maggie's.

The rest of the night went on fairly the same only with plates of food before us. I honestly hadn't eaten that much food in one sitting in years. It felt almost painful but as Jason came back to us with a plate of pie for each of us on the house there was a wave of contentment. We made our way to out car and the David dropped me and Maggie off. I looked at the clock before I fell asleep it stared at me with its bright red neon numbers "3:28am" I knew that it was mocking me. Now it was at 10:34am, my class began half an hour ago I must of slept through my alarm.

The last thing I did before I left was grab that slice of pie for breakfast. My stomach twisted and hurt from being so hungry even though I had eaten so much last night. I took a bite of it, pumpkin. It was wonderful as Jason said. I'll have to go back there again soon, but not just for the food. What can I say, he IS hot.
