Feederism is a growing and evolving community, and the terms we use have been shaped over the years by people who actively practice it. As the feederism lifestyle continues to develop, so does the language we use to describe it. Over time, meanings can shift, and new terms and definitions are introduced, reflecting the diverse experiences within our feederism community.
Feederism is an umbrella term that describes anyone actively involved in or interested in fat-based fetishism. It includes a wide range of kinks, roles, and dynamics centered around weight gain, feeding, and fat admiration.
While body positivity is a mainstream term used to describe the acceptance and well-being of larger people encouraging self-love and acceptance for larger bodies. Feederism revolves around the sexual attraction and gratification that comes from being fat and gaining weight.
Feederism most commonly used, is increasingly being referred to as feedism, a more inclusive term that represents the diverse roles and kinks within the fat fetishism community. While "feederism" is still widely recognized, it primarily highlights the feeder role, making it somewhat outdated. Feedism, on the other hand, embraces everyone—feeders, feedees, encouragers, gainers, admirers, and more—under one collective term.
What is your feederism identity...
What is a feeder?
A feeder is someone who enjoys helping others gain weight, often by encouraging feedees, setting weight gain goals, and providing food to support their partner’s growth. While they are typically sexually attracted to individuals with larger figures, they also find fulfillment in watching others become fatter. Anyone, regardless of their size, can be a feeder, though it’s common for feeders to be slimmer themselves and primarily interested in fattening others, rather than gaining weight themselves. This contrast between their slimmer frame and their fatter partners often enhances the dynamic. What is a feedee?
A feedee is someone who actively gains weight with the help of a feeder. Feedees can be any size, from smaller to supersized, and their goal is to continually grow bigger and fatter. They enjoy being fat and gaining weight, and often make weight gain a part of their daily routine. It's important to note that not all feedees want to become immobile—each has their own limits and goals when it comes to their weight gain journey. Some feedees like subcategorize themselves based on their eating habits. These terms are based on animal feeding habits. It's important to remember these terms are self identifying and not derrogatory.
Pigs are more assertive feedees. Often they like to binge eat, and love huge quantities of food. They can often be demanding with their feeders, like to eat quickly until they are completely stuffed and then become lazy and lethargic.
Cows are more passive feedees. Often they like to graze throughout the day constantly eating at a steady rate. They will be happy to receive any type of food from their feeder, as long as it's brought to them and they can remain comfortable on the couch.
What is a foodie?
A foodie is someone who enjoys eating but is not primarily focused on gaining weight. While their weight may fluctuate and they may gain weight, the main interest lies in the enjoyment of food itself and the sexual feelings associated with tasting and eating. Foodies are more focused on the experience of indulging in food, rather than the goal of weight gain. What is a gainer / mutual gainer?
A gainer is someone who is interested in gaining weight, but unlike a feedee, they do not rely on a feeder for support. Gainers focus on gaining weight on their own, following their own routines and setting their own goals. Mutual gainers, on the other hand, share a unique dynamic where both individuals are focused on gaining weight and enjoy getting fatter together. This relationship is different from the typical feeder feedee dynamic, as both partners are actively involved in the weight gain process. Most gainers like to record their weight gain journey. You can do this in our gainer section by recording your weight, but often people use terms on their profile to let others know at a glance their progress.
Start Weight (SW) - indicates the weight of the person when they decided to start gaining.
Current Weight (CW) - indicates the current weight showing their progress so far.
Goal Weight (GW) - indicates the gainers intended weight and what they are working towards.
What is an encourager?
An encourager is someone who supports and motivates others who want to gain weight, helping them stay on track with their weight gain goals. Unlike a feeder, an encourager does not provide food for feedees. Instead, they interact with gainers through conversations, offering words of encouragement, celebrating weight gain milestones, and cheering them on throughout their journey. Encouragers typically don’t get physically involved in the process but engage mostly in an online role. What is a Fat Admirer (FA) / Female Fat Admirer (FFA)?
A Fat Admirer or Female Fat Admirer (commonly referred to as a chubby chaser) is someone who is sexually attracted to larger people. They do not actively assist or encourage others to gain weight like a feeder or encourager, but they have a physical preference for those with larger figures. Fat admirers will date and have sexual relationships with BBW/ SSBWS and BHM/ SSBHMS. It is important to note that while all Feeders also identify as fat admirers, not all fat admirers are feeders. What is a BBW/SSBBW
Big Beautiful Woman or Super-Sized Big Beautiful Woman are the terms used to describe a woman who is fat and overweight. Being a BBW or SSBBW doesn’t necessarily make you a gainer, feedee or foodie. The difference between a BBW and SSBBW is the amount they weigh. Generally, there is no specific weight or clothing size that defines the difference between normal and supersize. However, the rule of thumb is that women over 350lbs are considered SSBBW’s.What is a BHM/SSBHM?
Big Handsome Man or Super-Sized Big Handsome Man are the terms used to describe a man who is fat and overweight. Being a BHM or SSBHM doesn’t necessarily make you a gainer, feedee or foodie. The difference between a BHM and SSBHM is the amount they weigh. Generally, there is no specific weight or clothing size that defines the difference between normal and supersize. However, the rule of thumb is that men over 350lbs are considered SSBHM’s.
How do you practise feederism...
Feeding
Feeding is an activity that can take many forms and be done in various ways, hand feeding, force feeding, funnel feeding etc... Even in more traditional relationships, food play is a common element - Think of the chocolate-covered strawberries you see in romcoms. For those in the feederism community, feeding is one of the most personal and intimate acts you can share with your partner. While feeding can also be done online, many prefer to engage in this activity in person due to the physical interaction, which heightens the sexual desire and gratification of the act. Whether you're hand-feeding your partner or engaging in other sexual activities during feeding, you both experience the fullness together physically and emotionally - As a bonus for those identifying as a feeder, feedee, or gainer, this act can even contribute to permanent gains on the weight gain journey.
Online feeding focuses on providing food and supporting your partner’s weight gain journey from a distance. While the primary pleasure comes from knowing you've provided someone with a large amount of food to consume, the experience can be even more fulfilling if the feedee or gainer shares pictures or engages with you through live chats or streams.
The activity of feeding can be both sensual and loving, or controlling and domineering, depending on the dynamics between the people involved. Different individuals have different expectations and needs when it comes to feeding, so it’s important to have an open conversation with your feeding partner about their desires and boundaries before beginning any feeding session. This ensures that both parties are on the same page and helps create a safe, enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

Stuffing / bloating / body inflation
These terms refer to specific activities for people who derive sexual pleasure from the feeling of being full. This is done by eating huge amount of food in binging sessions or bloating with air / water and carbonated drinks to expand their stomachs. This is a temporary state of feeling full and looking fatter. You can do these activities by yourself or with a partner and use tools like funnels to help expand your waistline.Padding
Padding is an activity for those who like the idea of being fat but are generally a little smaller in size. People who are interesting in padding will buy clothes in bigger sizes and use cushions, pillows and other materials to imitate the physical appearance of being fat.Squashing
Squashing is an activity where a larger person sits or lays on top of another person. While this can sometimes be linked to dominant and submissive dynamics, both the squasher and squashee can take on either role (dom or sub). The person being squashed typically enjoys the sensation of intense weight and pressure bearing down on them, and may even fantasize about this weight being their own. The squasher, on the other hand, often finds pleasure in the control they have, using their larger body to dominate the smaller person, trapping them with their size.Roleplay
Roleplay is quite common in the feederism community, and we even have dedicated rooms in our online chat. People engage in roleplay for various reasons—sometimes to play out specific fantasies that may involve other kinks that aren’t possible in real life, such as immobility fantasies, vore. Some individuals may roleplay to explore different aspects of their identity, such as a feeder wanting to experience what it feels like to be a feedee. For others, roleplay can serve as a way to explore fantasies in the absence of romantic or sexual connection in real life. However, it’s essential that roleplay is always discussed with the person involved to ensure you're on the same page.
