Hiding the sidebar

We do listen to all feedback both positive and negative (yes there has been some positive). We have to balance all needs, and take into account future development. What size screen are you using, I’ll take a look at this.

Wrong chapters

Thanks for posting the URLs. Both these stories have been removed by the author, which may be part of the problem.

However, I'm also curious about the URL's because they don't follow the usual pattern of:

fantasyfeeder.com/stories/weight-gain.

What steps did you take to come by these URLs? Was it via a search on title or something else?

Why does nothing happen to grey faced trolls here?

We check the site every day, and read and respond to the team emails and abuse reports on a daily basis. Very little gets past us and if anything does it's generally not for more than a day or two.

It's due to this commitment that we are confident that we don't have a big problem of stalking, sexual harassment, misogyny or misandry on this site, and if any serious problems come to light we act on them immediately.

Having said this, if you do feel we've missed something and have evidence of bad conduct that we can act on (such as screenshots), please send this to us at team@fantasyfeeder.com and we'll look into it with all due diligence and fairness.

I'm not trying to be mean but it's not just a little bad, it's actually actively weird that you guys think its an improvement to make everyone's screen so much smaller from a design standpoint. It made me wonder if you are only testing this on a 27" 4k monitor and don't care about normal user scenarios? Because you need to worry about how it looks on a normal 14-17" laptop.
You can't just arbitrarily take away screen real estate like that. Then again, I guess you can it's your website...

The site is tested on a range of screen sizes, from mobile to desktop. I'm tired of this conversation because what you've said just isn't true, for mobile and tablet users the navigation is exactly the same, and on desktops we've just used space that was previously empty. The top bar has always been there.

Why does nothing happen to grey faced trolls here?

It may sometimes seem that we don't take abuse reports and disruptive members seriously, but to give you an idea of how hard the moderators work, here's our stats for the past week (from 29th Jan to now):

Notes: 3
Warnings: 5
1 day suspensions: 2
1 week suspensions: 1
Permanent bans: 7
IP address bans: 12

IP address bans are usually for trolls, scammers and spammers that have no interest in the site other than to cause disruption or to get what they can from it. We have very strict sign-up checks that stop most of these at the door but for those that do get through we usually pick these up in a day or two.

Permanent bans are for members that may have some interest but have repeatedly broken the rules, usually by scamming or harassing other members or by persistent begging and advertising. These bans prevent people from signing-up by they can still view the site in a limited way as a guest.

The notes, warnings and suspensions are just for members who do have an interest in the site but play up occasionally, for instance may need a day off to cool off after an argument in chat.

Overall, we try to be as tolerant as we can of everybody, because it's not good for the community to ban lots of people. This means having to put up with some minor grievances, arguments and disruptions from otherwise good people just as you would in 'real' off-line life.

However I take your point about improving the reporting feature. Adding the ability to upload screenshots would be really useful because so often it's just one person's word against another. Thanks for the suggestion.

Darthstuffer:
The forums are almost impossible to use now. It's so large and gaudy. Why are the previews so big? Why are there any previews on the main forum page at all?

Please could you clarify this issue, since the update shouldn't have affected the forums. What's the URL of the page you're referring to?

Hate the latest changes to the website

Please accept my apologies for the chat issues, this was an oversight in the latest update but should now be fixed.

Perhaps I can explain my reasons for the navigation changes to show that there has been some thought gone into it and the changes are not just random. First of all the changes should only affect desktop users, the navigation for mobile users should still be the same as before. For desktop users, we've moved the navigation to the left hand side which gives space for many more top level links. It's using space that was previously just blank and cleans up the header, allowing room for more icons up there in the future. It also makes the desktop navigation similar to the mobile navigation, making it consistent for members who access the site on multiple devices.

Finally, were not finished yet, this is just the first step in improving the navigation and you should see another update soon which will recategorise some of the links into more intuitive groups. Oh, and unfortunately we don't have a test team like Microsoft, but we do try to get the fixes out as soon as we can. We rely on members pointing out bugs, so even though it can be hard to hear when we've screwed up, please do keep pointing them out because it helps us improve the site (I really mean it).
