Marriage suits you, mr jones...and mrs jones...

chapter 7

Tim bought a stretchy tee shirt and a pair of loose fitting trousers from a cheap shop he passed on the way to the car. He took off his suit in the shop changing rooms and kept the more comfortable clothes on.
He was feeling sorry for himself. He was one step away from getting fired. He had to buck his ideas up. He had to lose the weight that he'd gained. He had to change or he would lose his job.
He reflected on his single life. For all the socialising, he had been lonely and unhappy, contunually looking for something that would satisfy and keep him satisfied.
He called into a drive in fast food restaurant and bought a large burger and fries... and an extra large Coke.
He pulled into the car park and started eating as he reflected some more. He was happier now than he had ever been. His childhood had not been the best. Both his parents worked abroad and he'd had to go to boarding school. He felt like he had to stand out from the crowd, so he'd created that awful person who lied and cheated, but got everything he wanted. He'd created scandal, broke up other people's relationships for seedy one night stands. What was wrong with him? Was it attention he craved, or love?
He looked down, the burger had gone already, the large fries were almost gone too. They had not lasted very long and he still was no where near being full.
He pushed the rest of the fries into his mouth and downed the last of the Coke before he got out if the car and returned to the restaurant. This time, he bought another two servings. He ate them both quickly and efficiently. His belly was starting to fill out, but he wasn't finished yet.
He walked around to the doughnut shop next door and was going to buy half a dozen doughnuts of various kinds. He came out of the shop with a dozen and returned to the car to eat them.
He felt a pang of guilt. He should be at work, not sitting stuffing his face. However, he reasoned, he was rubbish at the job. It was inevitable that he was going to get fired. The only question was, how long could he string them along and still do nothing. How much money could he squeeze out of them before he was pushed out if the door?
He should have kept the doughnuts to eat later on, but he was curious as to what they would taste like. They looked so good and tasty.
Hed just try one now.
Oh! The sweet crunchy outside and the soft greasy fattening inside was gorgeous! He had to have another! ...and another ...and another.
He gobbled them up as if they were smarties, all the while, his belly was getting bigger, fuller and tighter. His new tee shirt began to ride up over his mound. When he thought he could take no more, he had a drink of Coke. It seemed to squash everything down inside him. He pushed the car seat back away from the steering wheel to give himself more room. He leaned over to one side, then the other. He burped loudly, holding onto his belly. He did not think he could hold any more. He was completely stuffed full. Then he burped again and picked up another doughnut.
no way! He'd got though the whole lot! He rubbed his stretched, overfull belly and moaned. This was better than cocaine! This was better than sex! He closed his eyes tripping out on the sugar overload. He felt guilty. He was supposed to be working! But he also felt pleased with himself for getting away with it, like a naughty schoolboy. He felt guilty for eating so much, but the overstuffed feeling made up for that. Strange. He'd never felt guilty for trail of destruction he'd left behind in the past, all the broken hearts, broken marriages and broken dreams. He thought about heading home, but he couldn't drive like this. The tight seatbelt across his middle would be too much, besides, Madeleine would have a lovely dinner waiting for him. He couldn't face more food right now... but later... later after he'd had a little nap, he might.
He dozed off to sleep. He was out for a couple of hours, waking up feeling satisfied and still quite full. He pulled his seat forward again. He had to open the car door and get out to do it because he couldn't bend. He turned on the engine and drove home. A dinner on top of what he'd already eaten today would push him back into the overful category. He couldn't wait!

I'm a bit rusty writing rather than editing, but if you're serious I'll consider it. I tend plot-driven rather than relationship-driven work, so the handoff would be obvious. Still, I can think of a few things to do with it.

This story is finished. I have already dragged it on longer than I intended. I have nothing else to add creatively, but Why don't you do an ad-endum if you like it so much?

Chrystophase 2003. She is not focussed on escaping. She thinks about escaping, but never does the deed because she is enjoying the food and lifestyle too much.
Whenever you have a choice to make, do you not have a debate going on in your own head? Often,

Question: Why is the female protagonist so focused on escaping the facility when their goals coincide with hers?

She was going to make him immobile and then cruelly leave him. Do you prefer the ending I have written instead?

The computer game character referenced in chapter 8 is, I think, palmer from final fantasy vii. He is one of the shinra executives in rocket town.
