chapter 3 (finished...i think)

The next day when she woke up, she was in Thorin's house. When she tried to sit up a sharp ache splintered through her neck.

Images from high school flashed through her mind and the pieces fell into place. The cogs in her brain became stuck and her heart went numb.

Thorin walked in carrying a paper bag and smiled. "Glad to see you're awake."

Shame and guilt washed over her followed by agitation.

"What the fuck?" She blurted out.

He sighed. "I know. It's a lot to take in."

"What happens now?" she stammered.

"You stay here with me. You are my human now. You belong to me and only me. I have a duty to protect you. Anything you want is yours."

“I’m sorry,” she said.

He arched an eyebrow. “Why?” he asked cautiously.

“I don’t know why I didn’t tell you last night...I don’t think I am a virgin.”

“You lied?” he snarled.

“No...I didn’t know fully what it was until this morning. You see...there was this teacher back in school. I was much younger and had no idea what was happening.”

A deep anger dilated his pupils as he clenched his fists. He took a deep breath calming himself.

“Well I have you and you are not going anywhere.” He eyed her to make sure she understood. She sat there with a wide, sad doe-eyed expression. “You’re still mine,” he said gently. “I still want you. You’re still...everything.”

“Thank you,” she said as her eyes became misty.

“There are a few things I will need from you,” Thorin said, changing the subject.

“Like what?” Rachel asked, an uneasy feeling in her stomach.

He tossed her a brown paper bag. She opened it and inside was a large brownie, almost 2 inches thick, from Starbucks stuffed with chocolate chips. “Huh?”

She looked at him confused.

“As I said, you are mine now and I will be needing a bigger blood supply than the average human can give. You’ll need to put on a few pounds.”

“What?”

“You’re far too skinny! I need a larger blood supply if I am to be sustained for more than five minutes!”

“You have got to be kidding me!”

He glared at her and gestured to the bag. “I’m not even hungry,” she protested but one loud howl from her stomach gave her away.

“So that’s what a stomach does when it’s full,” he commented, with an edge to his voice.

“Ugh!” She grabbed the brownie and shoved it in her mouth. She choked it down, feeling each bite drop into her until it began to expand the walls of her stomach. She forced down a few more bites forcing her stomach to stretch even further. It settled quiet, satisfied and stuffed. She impulsively licked her chocolate covered fingers and said, “Happy?”

“Far from it,” he said darkly.

“You know I don’t choose to be this skinny!”

He arched an eyebrow.

“I just don’t like food,” she continued.

“We will fix that,” he said gently. “By the way, I took the liberty of deleting your facebook. You’re welcome. If I find you on there again I will take your phone. You are not going to engage that disgusting woman again. Understand?”

She nodded.

He tossed her the phone. “Come eat breakfast,” he said.

“I just ate,” she protested.

He smiled wickedly. “Have it your way. I got you some clothes. They’re in the bathroom.”

He walked out.

She got up and walked to the bathroom. Her stomach was sore from the brownie. She showered and brushed her teeth.

There was a plastic Target bag on the floor. She rifled through it and took out an XL dress. “Oh my…” she whimpered. “How does he expect me to fill this out?”

She went back out to the bedroom but her clothes were gone. She cursed and went back into the bathroom to face the dress. She slid it on and it looked like a potato sack as it dangled on her.

“Fuck,” she muttered.

There was a smaller bag of makeup on the counter. She groaned and did her usual makeup routine.
As she was doing her makeup the smell of bacon curled in the air. Rachels appetite immediately returned and her mouth watered.

“Dammit!”

She stomped downstairs to a large buffet of bacon, sausage, eggs, and toast laid out for her.

Thorin was lounging in a chair, lazily scrolling through his phone. His eyes drifted to her, raking over her body. “You look nice,” he said.

“Shut up,” she muttered snatching a piece of bacon and shoving it in her mouth.

The grease coated her throat as it went down. It dropped into her stomach but it wasn’t satisfying. It only made her want more. She glared at Thorin who sat there with a cocky grin on his face.

“Fuck you!” she said as she grabbed a fistful of bacon and shoved it in her mouth.

It still wasn’t enough. The butter melting on the toast was too good to resist. She snatched it and shoved it in her mouth. She could feel herself filling up.

She sat at the table and bit into the sausages. There were five large pork sausages laid out on a plate. She ate every bite, feeling her stomach stretching beyond what she was used to.

Thorin put a plate of hash browns in front of her and she shoveled them in her mouth. By this time her stomach was protruding. “I have a food baby,” she said.

“Are we having a boy or girl?” Thorin joked.

She glared at him. He smiled apologetically. “I love you,” he said sweetly, making her heart melt.

“I love you too,” she replied.

He leaned in for a kiss and she tried to meet him halfway but was too full to move. He closed the rest of the distance between them.

“You’re beautiful,” he said. “By the way, I took the liberty of deleting your facebook. You’re welcome. If I find you on there again I will take your phone. You are not going to engage that disgusting woman again. Understand?”

Show more, tell less. More emotion and descriptions. Ditch the prologue and turn it into chapter one.

Good luck.
