The future is... chubby

Chapter 5 - i’m out of time travel puns

Elsa felt every nerve and vein in her skull scream as she began to return to consciousness, but the pain was short lived as she drifted back into darkness. She dreamed, dreamed of all the food she’d had back in 1915. In her oxygen deprived fantasy she enjoyed a feast all to herself. Eating a whole turkey dinner and savoring all of it. In her mind she could relive all the tastes she missed from her own time, meat, potatoes... salt, god how she missed salt. Of course her imaginary buffet included cup after cup of rich sugary coffee. She finished everything, and laughed as she looked down the long table, filled with the remains of so much food. It was the most pleasant thing she’d experienced in the weeks she’d been trapped in the future, but it didn’t last.
She took as sip of her coffee and some dripped onto her dress and when she looked down... she was fat. Fat wasn’t a strong enough word, she was a monster. Adrenaline began pumping through her massive body, and she tried to stand, but her legs lacked the strength to. Elsa looked into her reflection in the metal pan on the table, her face didn’t even look human. She opened her mouth to scream, but instead started eating more food. She couldn’t stop and felt her stomach grow tighter and tighter as it filled. She thought she was going to explode, but she didn’t.
All at once, the headache was back and she wished she had exploded. Her arms felt so weak, but she forced her atrophied limbs to feel her body. She was only as fat as before. The fog in her head was still there and she couldn’t quite remember what happened. It came back in pieces... the palace... the monsters ... she suddenly realized she wasn’t in the palace. Wherever she was she couldn’t see, she feared she was blinded in the fight.
Elsa hadn’t been truly afraid till this point. Till then she had always felt like she had some form of control over the situation. If she was in danger she could adapt, make weapons, fight. She couldn’t do any of that if she couldn’t see. All of her fear manifested into a shattering scream.
Then the blackness turned to blinding light. She could see again. She was in a grimy, moist stone room, even more ancient than the Chubboi’s palace. Across from her was a corroded metal door, opened by one of the male Chubboi. She pushed herself back into the slimy wall behind her, she knew there was no escape, but she felt like she had to be as far away from this thing as she could.
As she firmly pressed herself into the wall, she heard a human voice. It took a moment for her to remember it was the voice she’d heard last night. She relaxed a bit, knowing somebody spoke English.
The voice spoke in the Chubboi language and the male grumbled as he walked away. The thing that produced the voice slowly stepped into the cell. His voice sounded strong and intellectual, but it’s source looked almost like a corpse. Gaunt, with pale dry skin, black eyes and a lipless mouth. The only thing alive about this thing was his regal looking robes, made from the same material as the female Chubboi’s. He spoke to her.
“Hello, professor... you can relax here.”
Her voice shook, as she was still petrified,” where am I?”
His petite mouth smiled showing sharpened teeth,” You’re with us.”
Elsa’s fear hadn’t dulled her whit, she shook her head,” I’ve had enough of this mysterious bullshit. I want to know where I am, right now.”
“ Well, I didn’t want to frighten you with the fact that you’re 10 meters underground.”
“That’s it... 10 meters underground.” She rolled her eyes, after all she’d been through, this was not so impressive.
The voice’s look of superiority faded,” If you only knew what we had in store for you.”
She stood up, and crossed her arms,” You’re going to fatten me up and eat me, right?”
The voice sighed,”... Yes,” he composed himself, remembering that this scientist might have a venomous tongue, but she still couldn’t escape from his army of 800 pound creatures. He shouted in Chubboi and 2 guards came to his call.
The voice’s superior smile returned,”Normally, our prey is already fat enough by the time we decide to process them, but in some special cases we have to aid in the process.” A raspy laugh escaped his toothsome mouth.
Elsa stood, as she hoped she could possibly come up with some clever way out of this, but she was at the end of her rope. The two guards grabbed her arms and carried her away. She fought them the entire way to their destination. Another chamber, deep in the tunnels. A wooden chair sat at the far wall. She had no idea what they were planning, till she saw the chair had arm and leg restraints.
