chapter 2 - the island

The island was a couple miles away from San Juan and didn’t have an airport so you either had to take a 30 minutes helicopter ride or a 55 minutes ferry trip to get there, since we didn’t own a helicopter or could afford to hire one we took the ferry with the rest of the employees. There were at least 100 waiting to board evryone looked like they were in their 20s, but there was an assortment of body types: Tall, short, fat, thin, muscular.

One guy that looked like Chris Rock stepped up on a crate and yelled “Listen up, people! you’ll be divided in groups according to your occupation on the island, can you see those lovely ladies over there?” he said pointing to a group of women behind us “they’re here to help you with your paperwork, to embark on the ferry you have to get your permit and you’ll only get it after all your contracts and forms are signed and all your documents checked. If you have any to ask them. Hurry up cause the Ferry departs in 30 minutes and if you miss it you’ll have to make to the island by your own”

we grabbed our bags and headed over with the closest lady holding a clipboard, we said our names and she started checking it.

“is there a problem, maam?” Kim asked.

“Yesm but you don’t have to worry, it’s just that I see the name of Daniel Mariano, but there’s no Kimberly Anderson or Joseph Klein. While I check what happened, Mr. Mariano, you can start signing these forms and these two contracts, treat carefully the form B-2, you must sign all your preferences when it comes to feederism and choose wisely because only the Island board can rectify it. I’ll be right back”. and she left to talk to the guy that looked like Chris Rock.

we started going through Dan’s paperwork and it didn’t seem like a job at all, he was even getting a suite in a fancy hotel. “If this is another of your schemes and I end up cleaning bathrooms while you have fun in a poolside I swear I’ll kill you” Kim threatened him.

“Guys, listen, I didn’t ask for this. You’ll probably get the same treatment, relax. Stop looking me like that” he defended himself. It wouldn’t be the first time that Dan would put us in a tight spot, but this time he seemed sincere.

As he finished his signing his paperwork the lady that was helping us was nowhere to be found, it’s been 15 minutes since she left and she was still gone. “15 minutes, guys. Hurry up!” yelled fake Chris Rock.

when she finally showed up we had less than 5 minutes to sign everything, otherwise we would miss the ferry “Here we go miss Anderson and mr. Klein. Oh and mr. Mariano, you won’t be taking this ferry, mr. Khait sent his helicopter for you” she said smiling.

“Sweet, can we finish this in the helicopter?” I asked.

“Sorry, but it’s only for mr. Mariano. If you don’t finish signing those in 2 minutes you’ll miss the ferry” she said with the same smile.
Before Kim could say something or kill Dan I stopped her “listen, we'll deal with Dan later. We have to get on that ferry. This paperwork is the same Dan just signed. You know how Dan can be charming, Vytas probably just want to get to his pants.”

“You’re right, but what about the special form?” she said calmer.

“Just check all the boxes, the least Dan can do is help us rectify it” I said, already filling mine. As soon as we finished signing the papers we handed it to the lady to get our permit, we literally jumped in the ferry as it was leaving the dock.

on the ferry we received pink watches, while the bracelet could be expanded a lot once we fastened in our wrists it was impossible to remove it. Fake Chris Rock showed up again, this time with a mic.

“Ladies and gentleman, welcome to the feeding island family. In behalf of our big boss mr. Khait I'd like to give you all a warm welcome and he hopes you enjoy your experience as staff. As you can see you received a very colorful watch, this not only is a way for our guests to tell you are from staff, but also monitor you 24/7. Another cool feature is that most of your tasks we’ll be completed with the help of these little friends: it’ll tell you where to go, it will allow you to arrange supplies, to enter buildings and as there’s no currency on the island all transactions are made with these watches!” he said poiting to his own red watch “And relax they are waterproof, fireproof, not yet tested if bulletproof, but you are all welcome to try. I see there are a few worried faces since a few of you came here to get fat, you too don’t have to worry these watches were designed to expand with you. That's all for now, you’ll have further instructions before we arrive so those with red, yellow and purple watches go upstairs, those with black and silver watches go downstairs and finally those with pink, blue and brown watches stay with me” he said moving further in the ferry.

we were pink, it meant we would be with fake Chris Rock. Kim was still mad at Dan and all this talking wasn’t helping her mood. Fake Chris Rock was still shouting structions but we weren’t paying attention.

Suddenly our watches lightened up and the name “Kimberly Anderson” showed up in the tiny screen, that took me out of trance and I started to listen to fake Chris Rock again.

“And that’s all for now, you have the name of your roommate in your watch now. Go find him! When we get to the island you go straight to your dorms unpack and rest, breakfast will start to be served at 7am so be ready to go wherever your watch tells you too. Good luck!” he said turning off his mic.

Kim and I headed to our dorm room, it looked like more like a hotel room: very large, two king size beds, two mini fridges and it even had two bathrooms, the only thing we could complain was that the bath robes were the size of blanket, but after the long day we went through it was almost perfect.
