"Well, again, as we discussed, in 3 months from now we'll meet again so that I can check your progress. We'll also meet in 6 months' time at which point you'll undergo a second series of medical checks just to make sure that you're still in good health. I also, you'll note in the paperwork, reserve the right to call a meeting in 9 months' time if I feel you're not gaining as much as I think you need to in order to hold up your end of the bargain. But of course, we'll definitely meet in 12 months' time so I can ogle your new bouncy belly. I wouldn't miss that for the world! We'll of course do weigh-ins and measurements back at yours or my place after each meeting, and Kara will pass me your vital statistics after your check up on Thursday. Not a word to her about this though, okay, as it's our little secret." Jenn winked at Russell.

"Not a word ..." Jenn emphasised further.

"Okay Jenn. But you didn't forget the break-clause did you?" Russell eyed her suspiciously.

"No-no, that's ...," Jenn paused, "unfortunately in there too."

"Exactly 6 months from today, and only on that date, you can - at your own request - invoke a break clause in the deal. So if you're not comfortable with the extra pounds you've managed to put on, for whatever reason, you can opt-out and we go our separate ways, perhaps, forever." Jenn let that thought dawn upon Russell.

"But I really hope you don't use that break clause Russell". Jenn flicked her long hair over one shoulder suggestively and let her long eyebrows flutter freely once again, letting her feminine charms do their worst. Russell looked at her wide-eyed, the want in his eyes clear.

Jenn quickly stood up and eyed her mobile phone screen. She frowned.

"Sorry Russell, I've really got to run now. I've other business to attend to besides your belly I'm afraid. But it's been so great to finally meet you after all these years". She kissed Russell on the cheek.

"So then, I'll see you back here in 3 months' time. I'll email the time and date to confirm. Don't forget your medical tests on Tuesday too - the address is on this card - and the address of Kara's surgery is on the back - you'll see her on Thursday at 10am."

"I'll keep this copy," said Jenn, waving the paperwork in her hand as she walked away. "But I'll get the lawyers to mail you a duplicate. Gotta run now baby boy ..."

"Oh. And eat well! ... Start by ordering some dessert!" Jenn shouted as she disappeared through the restaurant's revolving door.

Russell had tried to rise to his feet as she left but he quickly slumped back down as the shock of finally committing to actively gaining weight really hit him. This time it was for real - there was no turning back - at least not without dire financial consequences. He didn't really have $5,000 to lose. There was only one way out, and that was to gain, and gain fast.

He thought about what he had agreed to, but his thoughts were cut short as the waiter placed a cardboard box on the table before him.

"The bill's been paid Sir, compliments of your lady friend. And she suggested you might like this 'to-go'".

Russell nodded in appreciation as the waiter placed a large box on the table and disappeared. He opened it. The note inside lay upon a large chocolate fudge cake and read,
