Softening kate

chapter 1 - confession and acceptance

Kate; Week 1
Age: 18
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 172 lbs
BMI: 27.8

POV: Connor

I got a call from my girlfriend, Kate asking if I could pick her up from work. Kate's sister had agreed to pick her up before, but plans changed and she decided to go to a movie and a buffet with some friends of hers. Kate and I agreed to use it as an opportunity to hang out, since we hadn't had the chance to do so recently.

I pulled into the parking lot of the Dairy Queen Kate worked at just as she walked outside. She was wearing a loose hoodie and jeans, having just changed out of her uniform. Her chestnut hair was in a bun. She didn't have a shake or Blizzard with her, which was unusual. The manager let employees have one dessert item every day, and Kate wasn't one to miss out on a good deal. As Kate got into my car, she seemed quite tense. I was concerned momentarily that she had been fired, or gotten in some trouble with her manager. She was a genuinely kind person, but she as also didn't take shit from annoying customers.

Before I could say anything, she said "I need you to be honest with me, Connor."

"About what?" I asked, taken aback. Her tone of voice didn't seem angry, but her fists were clenched on her lap.

She lifted her hoodie, revealing her black t-shirt. "What do you think of this?"

"Uh, it's a normal shirt? It looks nice? I'm not sure what you're after."

Kate sighed and relaxed. "I'm glad it isn't as noticeable as I thought, then." Lifting her shirt above her belly, she prodded it with one hand. "Working here has taken a toll on my waistline... I'm sorry." She quickly pulled her hoodie back down. "I'll lose it fast, I promise!"

"Wait, why are you apologizing?"

"You're not mad?"

"Why would I be? You don't have any obligation to watch your weight for me."

"I don't know... it's just that I know you try so hard to be the best version of yourself for me. I just feel bad for letting myself go like this. I wasn't even that slim when we started dating... I want to be more attractive for you." Her freckled cheeks started to turn red.

"Listen, you being here for me is enough! There's no amount of weight you could lose that would make you more attractive to me!" I put my hand on her knee. I looked her in her emerald eyes, and then she said something I didn't expect.

"Well, then what would make me more attractive for you? Do you want me to gain more weight?"

Truth be told, I did have a thing for bigger girls, and the thought of Kate getting thicker sent my heart racing. I wasn't sure what to say so I just looked away. I'm sure my cheeks were getting as red as hers at that point.

"Just tell me! What would make you the happiest? That's all I want to do!"

"Well... I mean, I think it would be attractive if you gained a little weight. You just seem so cute when you're enjoying eating, plus something about it's just hot to me... Sorry, just forget I said anything." I looked away sheepishly, unable to believe that I actually just said what I did out loud.

Kate gave me a peck on the cheek. "You don't have to be embarrassed! We're a couple, it's okay to tell me what you like. Just a minute."

Kate got out of the car and when back inside. When she returned, she had a large shake in hand.

"So, let's talk about what we're doing for dinner." She said, a warm smile on her face.

I had a lover many years ago who gained for me several times. She once gained 27 lbs in 10 days over Christmas break. So the initial gains here are realistic given that Katie is one of those rare "gifted gainers". This story brings back such fond memories.
