Zoe’s weight continued to climb and she still seemed to be unaware of this. She would immediately crave any sweets if a commercial for something came on. While Zoe still ran and tried to eat healthier, she would always over do it on the sweets. For her birthday in September, Beth and her friends made her a huge cake, but only Beth ate more than a small slice, leaving the rest for Zoe to finish off. Zoe awoke in the middle on the night and ate half the cake. She awoke the next morning covered in chocolate frosting. Thanksgiving came and Zoe always let herself indulge, and now was no different since she hadn’t even accepted her gain. By October she was well over 200, and was quite large, yet still saw herself skinny. Finally the day came, it was almost the week before Christmas, and the girls went out to find their outfits for the parties. That morning was different for Zoe, she awoke groggily and felt heavy. She rolled herself to the edge of the bed and sat up, her fat belly took over her entire lap as she sat there feeling heavier than ever. Looking in the mirror, she saw how fat she was, at first she wanted to scream, but then her mind was calmed with the memories of all the food and she immediately felt as if this was normal for her to see.

The two roommates, now the sae size, went out to get their Christmas outfits. Zoe went to all of her regular stores and there were no dresses that fit her. After hours of driving around trying on dresses, she found only a few that fit, and they did not flatter her body. Finally, Beth spoke up, “Zoe, now do you believe me that it’s hard to find a cute dress that fits? Let’s just go to walmart and get ugly Christmas sweaters”. When they got to their first party, Zoe didn’t feel like the lithe, sexy girl she had in the past, she felt large and awkward. Beth thought, “Zoe looks kinda cute in her sweater, definitely not as hott as all her dresses, but hey, at least now Zoe knows what it’s like shopping for sexy outfits at my size”
