Growing gaia - complete

Chapter 5

Sophia stood in front of her bathroom mirror, staring at herself, slightly horrified. She was supposed to be going on a date tonight. But there it was, undeniable: the unwelcome, steadily expanding curve to her belly. She frowned at the reflection, hands on her hips, and contemplated pouring herself a glass of wine, maybe a milkshake. Hell, maybe both? Terra had taken her to go shopping, and shopping they did.

Sophia had tried to dismiss the growing bulge, ignoring the weird looks she got from strangers in the mall. Where where they going? Terra had passed all her favorite stores. That’s when she saw it: the maternity store. “Oh, come on! Seriously? I can’t even escape this when shopping!” She tried to walk past it, but Terra steered her inside, saying, “Come on, you never know, maybe you’ll find something perfect for your date tonight. You can’t deny that you at least need something more…accommodating tonight.”

Sophia rolled her eyes but followed, looking longingly at the dessert shop across the mall. “Fine, but I deserve a treat after. That pizza needs a friend or two,” she said with a smirk to make light of her situation, already feeling a bit peckish.

Once inside, Sophia was surprised to find the clothes were tasteful and diverse. She waved off Terra's suggestions, insisting she try things on herself.
Surprisingly, a few looked amazing on her. “Alright, Terra, don’t say I never do anything for you,” Sophia said with a laugh. She picked up a flowing flowery dress in front of her, “I think this might be a winner.”

The saleswoman took their selections, leaving them at the fitting rooms area. Terra eyed the rest of the maternity wear, smirking. “Look, Soph, they even have sexy lingerie too. Here, come try these on and let’s see how they look on you. With that big baby belly, you need all the support you can get,” Terra said, winking at Sophia, holding up a lacy black bra-and-panty ensemble.

Sophia protested, “Terra, I am not pregnant! Stop saying that already.”

Terra responded cheerfully, “Whatever you say, Soph. Let me see if they have something in your usual size, errr, relative to your usual size.”

Sophia rolled her eyes but couldn’t help laughing.

She and Terra had been friends for years, and Terra always knew how to make her laugh. Even if she made her roll her eyes so far back, they threatened to get stuck. But Nandy, the guy she was going on a date with tonight, would surely appreciate the effort she was going through today.

Taking the outfit inside the fitting room, she hesitated at the lacy lingerie set. “Alright, fine, I’ll try them on. Just for laughs,” Sophia said to herself. She knew Terra would not let up until she obliged.

She slid out of her clothes and into the lingerie, marveling at how comfortable these pieces were, hugging but not squeezing excessively. She would give in and ask Terra to buy the sexy lacy set.

As Sophia stepped out of the fitting room, Terra's eyes went wide, and she clapped.

"Damn, Sis! You look ravishing! Nandy is in for a treat!"

Sophia laughed nervously but couldn't contain her blush. "Really? It's not too much?" She glanced sideways at the saleswoman, who smiled and nodded in agreement.

Terra shook her head. "Don't be silly! I mean, look at you, Sophia! It's not every day you see someone carry a lacy lingerie set like that, pregnant or not. It's like Mother Earth decided to put on something scandalous for once!" The saleswoman added, joining Terra's praises for Sophia's transformation.

Sophia laughed at the woman's boldness but felt grateful for the compliment. She looked at her figure, more curvy and sensual than ever, with her voluptuous hips and swollen belly that resembled a kickball.

Her breasts were fuller and more sensitive to touch, making her softly aware of the remarkable change in her body as she marveled at her transformation.

Sophia then said, “Well, ladies, I guess I found my outfit for today. And maybe for tonight too. I need some more clothes just to get by at work until I can get this swelling to go down.” Terra laughed as she hugged her friend. “Darling, nothing about you needs to go down. Embrace that fullness, baby. Sexy things are about to happen to you.”

Her girlfriend’s humorous response eased Sophia’s rising anxiety, and she felt the corners of her mouth curling into a smile. “I’m not so sure, Terra. I'm not exactly in ‘sexy shape.’" Sophia said, glancing at herself in the floor-length mirror again.

"Sophia, hun, more men than you could ever imagine are into bodies like yours. Yes, you are more full-figured, and yes, you're becoming round as an apple in places, but don’t underestimate yourself. You're a modern woman whose sexuality transcends the norm, a goddess in your own right. In fact, this is only the beginning of your journey of self-discovery as you transform from being merely beautiful to radiantly irresistible.“ She had never been so full-figured in her life, and she felt odd meeting Nandy tonight.

She relented and decided to trust her friend. Terra had always had a way of seeing through Sophia, understanding her fears, listening to her concerns, and helping her embrace her changing self.Sophia was now more curvaceous than ever, with the prominent bump that made people doing double-takes when they walked by her. It was almost as if she were wearing an invisible crown of fertility—a sign of abundant life.

And so, the rest of the afternoon was spent in the mall, with Terra encouraging her to indulge in something sweet or heavy treat to slyly encourage her to continue to gain weight. They went to a dessert shop, and Sophia picked a triple chocolate fudge brownie sundae, piling whipped cream, hot fudge, and maraschino cherries on top. Terra ordered an entire red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting.

Sophia laughed as her friend mimed swooning over the cake. “Terra, if you don’t stop making googly eyes at that cake, I’ll start believing you’re trying to seduce it. Do you expect anyone to think you can eat a whole cake?” Sophia asked, amused at Terra’s antics.

Terra chuckled, taking a big bite of her cake. She raised a brow. “What makes you think I ordered this for myself? I ordered it for you.”

Sophia froze mid-bite, staring at her friend in disbelief. “Wait, what? You didn’t?!” Her cheeks flushed as she looked down at the brownie sundae. She suddenly felt guilty for indulging, given that she was trying, at least she was telling herself she was going to try, to keep her bloating under control.

She hesitated for a moment, weighing the options. She could still say no in attempt to stave off the belly swelling… or give in to Terra's peer pressure and indulge in the red velvet cake.

It was, after all, an invitation to feast on the sinfully decadent lushness of red velvet cake, a guilty pleasure she seldom allowed herself until the last half week. Sophia loved a good challenge, and perhaps this indulgence could be a litmus test for her self-control.

"I see you contemplating that cake, Sophia. You were practically drooling over it in line. What's holding you back?" Terra's eyes sparkled, daring her friend to take a taste. "Fear not the lushness. Embrace it, surrender to its seductive pull,” she quipped.

Despite the fear of further fueling her bloating, Sophia looked at the rich cake, remembering the sensuous touch of chocolate melting in her mouth. A shiver of anticipation crept through her as the smell wafted toward her. She had never been one to shy away from indulging, especially when it came to sweet treats.

But now, the mere thought of gaining more weight than she had already, left her somewhat apprehensive. Yet, the irresistible allure of the luxurious, rich, chocolate decadence lingered near her lips. She felt the fire in her eyes, the intense want, the innate desire, and the uncontrollable urge to take a bite—summoning all the courage within her, she caved.

"Terra, you win. Fine, I'll share it with you," Sophia conceded, feeling a strange enthusiasm and the tingling of anticipation.

With that, she picked up the fork and took the first bite. The red velvet cake was even better than she remembered. As she savored the delicious dessert, she mentally preparing herself to be ready for her date with Nandy, making sure her new maternity outfit was ready, and freshening up.

She had taken a long, relaxing bath and now slipped into her new dress. The elegant flowery dress emphasized her ripe curves, and she added a touch of makeup to enhance her features. She studied herself in the mirror, smiling slightly as she marveled at her buxom appearance. She hardly recognized herself.

Gone was the slim, athletic physique she had maintained through rigorous exercise and healthy eating habits. In its place was a more fruitful beauty, the visual manifestation of fertility.

Her hips had widened, her thighs generously cushioned, and her waist thickened. Her bustline was no longer modest, and when she moved, her body rippled and swayed with a primal grace. But it was the enlargement of her belly that truly disarmed her.

The globe-like swell occupied the space between the widespread thighs of her newly cloud-soft body, forming a bowl that promised warmth and comfort. The physically imposing form filled every inch of the frame, making the rigid challenge appear small in comparison as she draped fabrics over the mound, which now appeared more natural and welcoming to the beholder.

Sophia's world became an oasis of smooth, burgeoning forms, and every piece of clothing she wore seemed designed to accentuate the transformation her body was taking.

With a final glance in the mirror, as satisfied as she could be, she called out to Terra, who waited outside her bedroom door.

"Alright, I'm ready! Let's not keep him waiting."

Terra peeked her head through the doorway and whistled appreciatively. "Wow, Soph, you really look the part now. I'd say you're definitely ready for this date."

Sophia's heart fluttered with anticipation and a hint of nervousness as they descended in the elevator to the lobby. The man she would soon meet was Nandy, a charismatic artist from the local community. She had admired his paintings in the art galleries for quite some time and finally mustered the courage to approach him during one of his exhibits. He had been very cordial, giving her an exclusive peek at his latest collection and, in the process, asked her out for dinner.
