Chapter 1
Bob felt like he hit the lottery of life when he married Emily. She was smart, funny, honest, loving and beautiful. Beautiful to Bob anyway. At five feet five and 230 pounds, she wasn’t beautiful by society’s standards. But Bob had admitted to himself years before that he wasn’t attracted to women who met society’s norms. No bone thin waifs for him, no indeed. He liked big hips, big boobs, round bellies and thick thighs. There was no hiding his preferences since every girl he dated was at least 200 pounds. Beginning a relationship was always awkward because heavy girls were suspicious of a slender guy like Bob coming on to them. Many thought he was after an easy lay and would then bail. So it always took some convincing. Except for Emily. Emily was very body confident. She knew that she was heavy, but she knew that she liked to eat and hated to diet. Her health was good as she walked a lot and for the most part ate healthy meals. She just ate so much that her calorie intake overcame her exercise. When she and Bob met at a local festival, they hit it off right away. Conversation flowed easily and they started dating. Three months later she moved in with him. Three months after that they were married. It was a small ceremony, just immediate family and friends. They made an unusual couple, her at five foot five and 240 pounds (ten more pounds of relationship weight) and him at six foot and 160 pounds. But they were very obviously in love and everyone was happy for them. Their honeymoon was a cruise which added another eight pounds to her generous figure. Bob didn’t gain an ounce. He never did. He had a fast metabolism, he was fairly active and he only ate until he was comfortably full. He liked a variety of foods, including fast food, but he never ate enough to add any weight to his frame.
Emily wished he would fill out some. She knew that he genuinely loved her, and that he loved her size, but she just wished their two bodies weren’t such a contrast. Her very round shape seemed out of step with his bony body when they walked together. She certainly wasn’t going to try to diet to get closer to his weight. First, she hated dieting and second she knew that he absolutely loved her soft curves. So she hoped that he would fill out once they got married. She was a pretty good cook and she tried getting him to eat more. But it was always the same. He would eat until he was satisfied and that was that. He would thank her for offers of a second helping or dessert, but no thanks. They had been married for six months, he was still 160 pounds and she was facing the idea that he would never weigh any more than that.
Then the flyer came in the mail from A.B.B.A.
