chapter 4 - the party

The party began. The lounge room's lights were turned off. The only thing keeping the room lit was the colored dance lights that scattered across the room. Pretty ok look it; nothing intense or flashy. Most of the coworkers were split in groups. Not everyone was there were exactly best friends.

"Where the hell is Todd," Austin thought. "This whole ***ing party was for him, so he better show up!"

Austin walked through the room, checking each corner, checking each bathroom, to try to find Todd, but he was nowhere to be seen. It's been half an hour and he still didn't show up! Austin was just about to lose his mind, until he heard a ding from the elevator. Austin's head darted to the elevator. It was Todd. He looked bigger than he was before. He gained about two - three pounds, or something along those lines. Austin had a knack for guessing people's weights and how much he or she had gained in the amount of time they were away from him. Austin headed toward Todd, only to be stopped by a fellow employee that wanted to thank him for throwing a great party out of the blue. After the two exchanged greetings, thanks, et cetera, Austin headed to Todd once more.

"There he is! I thought you were gonna be a no show!" Austin said.

"Of course not," Todd said. "I brought some extra pastries... but it looks like you already stocked up on the goods."

"Here, you've gotta try these burgers that I ordered," Austin said.


"I'd love if you brought me a couple," Todd said.

"Be right back. Austin went over the burger stand and stacked five burgers onto the plate. He went back over to Todd. "Here you are!"

"Uh, boss... I asked for a couple."

"They're really good, trust me," Austin said. Todd took a bite of the burger, almost ripping and eating half the burger.

"Wow! This is excellent!" Todd finished his burger... and another... and another... until it was all gone. "Got anymore?"

Austin picked up another ten burgers and gave them to Todd, which he consumed.

"Why don't you come over to the food table and pick what you'd like."

Todd nodded. The two walked over the buffet table.

"Pig out, Todd!" Austin said.
