Chapter 1 - Death andor taxes
This was the part I always hated when filling out my tax forms. The weight section. They wanted to know how much I weighed all throughout the year, how many calories I consumed in an average day, how much and how I exercised, and all sorts of other questions. It seemed absurd, but apparently it was so we could have a healthier country. I had to make up a lot of the info, as I just didn't know what it was asking, and so it didn't take me too long.I sighed, and checked to see how much I could expect to get back. $200. Great. Barely anything. I submitted it online, and thought little more of it over the next week. I kept very busy, as I generally do, working two jobs, going to school, and making it to the gym twice a day. I didn't even check my email again until a week later, and was shocked about what it said. "They're going to audit me for my health? I don't even know what that means." Hours later, there was a knock at the door, and several men stood wearing official-looking suits.
"Harriet Bergeron?" one asked, simply. I nodded, but didn't move to let them in, and just continued to stare them down. "We have to take you into custody for some questioning. Would you mind coming with us?"
"Yes I mind, I was kind of-" and before I could even finish the sentence, one had pushed past me and was handcuffing me. "What the fu-" and then I think I was tazed. I woke up in what must have been the padded room of the local jail, though the walls looked normal. It really just had a very nice and large bed there. A fat man sat at a desk near me, in the middle of the room of cells. He picked up a phone slowly, staring at me, and after a moment, grunted into it.
"She awake." Moments later, a door opened, and the three men from before were approaching my cell.
"Have we already gotten measurements?" one with less hair than the others asked, seemingly in charge.
"Yeah. Got all that when we first got her. Here are the inconsistencies." He held up a piece of paper, which the balder guy grabbed in passing. He looked at it, and smiled. He looked up at me.
