Listen to this chapter - just press play:
Chad had just become a certified nurse. His plans were to work at a hospital or help with physical therapy, but there weren't as many open jobs as he'd thought there would be. So, he took a job at a company that sends out at-home nurses to people who need them.
He got a call that he had got an assignment to be an at-home aid for a 27 year old woman who lived alone and was severely obese, her name was Jessica. Chad couldn't believe the assignment he was given. He was hoping for an elderly person, not some fat immobile pig.
The next day he went to the address he was given. Chad pulled into the driveway behind the van that was already there. He looked at the house and it was huge. It had to be a 3 bedroom at least, and yet Jessica lived alone. He got there at 11am and walked up to the door and knocked on it, there was no response so he knocked again. After knocking for about the fifth time he could hear some loud thuds along with a lot of creaking. The door was finally opened and a giant woman dressed in a robe the size of a tarp stood in front of Chad.
It took her a second to catch her breath. "Oh, you must be Chad, I'm Jessica. Come on in." Jessica says in between gasps for air.
Chad is stunned by the sheer size of her. He's shaken out of it once he feels the shaking of the ground due to her waddling, so he follows her inside and into the living room.
Jessica sits down on a couch thats meant for 3 people but only fits her and Chad sits in a chair to the side of the couch. Looking around, he notices that the house is a mess. It's full of pizza boxes, take out containers and empty 2 liter bottles of soda.
Jessica apologized for taking so long, but she had just woken up. "Jesus, this fat ass is lazy. You just woke up?" Chad thinks to himself.
Chad and Jessica begin some small talk. At first Chad tries to be nice, but it quickly wears off. He discovers that Jessica inherited the house, along with a lot of money from her parents when they passed. She was only 18 when they died. She originally planned on going to college, but fell into a depression with their passing. She points to a photo on the fireplace of her and her parents.
Chad looks at it. "Thats you?" Chad said confused.
"Yeah, I used to be thin. I even played softball in high school." Jessica said, almost too embarrassed to speak. "When my parents died I dropped out of college, moved in here and kind of cut myself off from the world. I also sadly started eating my feelings. I was 145lbs when I dropped out."
"How much do you weigh now?" Chad asked while putting the picture back on the fireplace.
Jessica blushes and looks away. "I... haven't weighed myself in a few years. I'm too embarrassed. I didn't even want to call you guys, but my sister insisted I need the help."
"Yeah you do." Chad said under his breath.
"What was that?" Jessica asks.
"Oh, nothing. I'd be glad to help. So, what do you need? Someone to help you lose weight?" Chad asks in a condescending tone.
"...no, I just need help around the house and getting around." Jessica replies.
"Really? Are you sure that's it?" Chad says while looking her up and down.
Jessica looks at the floor. "That's all." Almost like she's too afraid to admit that she should lose weight.
"Ok, I'll take the job." Chad says while sighing.
He thinks to himself, "if only I didn't need the money. This heifer is going to be such a pain in the ass."
