Adoration

chapter 3

He heard the doorbell buzz; he put down the picture and eagerly waddled over to the door to get his pizza. He paid the guy and even gave him a good tip; he sniffed the pizzas and sighed happily as he set them down in the kitchen. That had to be the best smell in the world fresh made pizza. His greedy mouth watered as he dug into the deep dish pizza. The two extra-large deep dish pizzas felt like heaven as he swallowed slice after slice he was starting to get that heavy full feeling as he got to the last two slices. He slouched back in the couch, giving his full, swollen belly more room to expand as he finished the last two slices.

He was finally full and satisfied; he burped and patted his hard belly as he flipped through the channels to find something to watch. He felt his eyelids beginning to droop after about an hour or so. Something in the back of his mind said he needed to get rid of the empty pizza boxes before Merida came home and saw them. She would find out he'd been eating behind her back and that would mean he'd have some explaining to do. But he was so full and sleepy, he couldn't keep his eyes open and eventually he gave into temptation and fell asleep. It was peaceful and he was riding the food high he loved so much.

He was jolted awake when he heard a car pull into the driveway; he panicked as he tried to lift his big body off the couch to dispose of the evidence of his stuffing session. He looked around and didn't see any pizza boxes and he didn't have to time to think about where they went before the front door opened.

"Hey baby, how was work?" James said. He quickly tried to pull down his shirt over his stuffed and exposed belly.

"It was work; how was your night?" Merida asked.

"Just a bunch of TV and stuff; nothing interesting." James replied.

"I see. Did Mike do his homework?" She asked.

"Umm...yeah." James said.

"That sounds like a very unsure yeah there...did you even check?" Merida asked suspiciously.

"What, you don't trust me?" James said, trying to change the subject.

"Of course, I just know when you're lying to me." Merida said.

"Lying to you? Why would I lie to you?" James asked innocently.

"Come on baby; I've been married to you long enough to know when you lie. Also I hope you liked your pizzas. If you were still hungry, you should have said so."

"What pizzas?"

"I have a computer at work; I can see the debit transactions; and you have pizza sauce on your shirt." Merida said.

James looked down and saw a glop of pizza sauce on his shirt; he glared at it. Merida just smiled.

"Baby, I know you love your food I can see the evidence on you." Merida said as she patted his bulging belly that had snuck out from beneath his shirt again. He pulled it down angrily.

"I don't know what you're talking about; I'm not getting fat." James said.

"Sure you aren't babe; it's totally the washer's fault for your shrinking clothes isn't it?" Merida said.

"Yeah...yeah the washer must be set too cold or something...that's it." James said.

"I'm going to take a shower, and then hit the hay. I'm bushed." Merida said.

"Can I come?" James asked with a grin.

"Can you fit?" Merida teased back.

"I told you; I'm not getting fat." James said.

"Right." Merida said.

James grinned as he waddled after her, he did love the way her tight little ass fit into those hospital scrubs. She was younger than him by about thirteen years but that didn't matter, his friends were jealous he had a hot young wife and that he could get so fat and not have to worry about her leaving. His friends were convinced she would if he kept gaining weight but he just laughed it off and never thought about it.

He knew she loved him, his weight, and that she was going to stick around. Some people are just so stuck on the fat hate that they can't fathom that anyone would want to be with someone who was fat, it amused him to no end to see their reactions when he would be out with Merida and Mike in a mall or restaurant or something. Their looks ranged from shock to polite disregard to outright disgust, his favourite was the shocked look. His weight was still climbing and Mike was starting to catch up to him. Since he would be sixteen next year social services would be limited in what they could do to James about his son's weight.

They hadn't bothered him for years now; ever since he got married again they seemed to back off a bit. Knowing that Merida was a nurse probably had something to do with it, as long as it seemed like Mike was keeping his grades up and attending school since he would be sixteen next year his weight didn't matter as much now as it did before.
