chapter 5
Third PersonMonica plopped down on the couch, exhausted from her morning workout. She sat there for a few minutes, scrolling through pics of Instagram models in her feed. "Ha, my body is better than all of these girls'," she thought smugly, "and I have a rich man to show for it." She stood up and walked into the master bedroom to admire her perfect body in the full length mirror. "My ass looks amazing in these yoga pants ... I think I'm going to order a few more pairs," she thought, retrieving Jacob's credit card from her purse. She sprawled out on the bed and browsed through the website, deciding she needed a few other things as well. Suddenly, she heard a loud growl emerge from her stomach. I looked at the clock. 9:00 am. "Huh," she thought, "I never eat this early. I must have burned a lot of calories this morning. I think the only thing I've had so far is the tea Olivia made for me this morning." Before her workout this morning, Olivia had coaxed Monica into drinking a cup of tea, which she explained was a very expensive kind imported from Europe. While this was true, what Monica did not know was that the tea contained special natural appetite stimulants.
Just then, a heavenly aroma floated throughout the penthouse. Following the scent, Monica made her way into the kitchen and sat at one of the stools.
"Hey, Olivia, what are you making? It smells so good," she asked, her mouth watering.
"I was just whipping up some caramel pancakes, hun," she said sweetly, placing a stack of 5 pancakes in front of the skinny girl.
"I guess I can indulge every once in a while," she said cutely, picking up her fork and knife.
"Wait a sec, hun," Olivia said, dumping a copious amount of homemade whipped cream and maple syrup on top, "now eat up".
Monica immediately dug in. With every bite, she felt more overcome with hunger. She quickly finished the pancakes, and sat staring at the empty plate.
"Olivia, I want more," Monica demanded, too hungry to remember her manners.
"Of course, hun" Olivia said, loading Monica's plate up with another stack of pancakes and some hash browns.
About three bites in, Monica felt stuffed. However, she refused to let her breakfast defeat her, and pushed her stomach beyond its limit. "Oof, I think I might have overdone it," she thought, rubbing her bloated stomach. Not bothering to help Olivia clean up or to say thank you, Monica laid on the coach rubbing her bloated stomach until she drifted into a food coma.
