Alyssa's flight was to leave at 2:20 PM from Pudong International Airport. She got up early with Austin, dressed and walked to the food street for one last breakfast in China. She started with Jianbing, then bought some large steamed buns. Yang's Fried Dumplings opened (the best dumplings on earth), and she bought 4 orders of 6. On the way back to her hostel, she bought a scallion bread to eat.

When they got back to their room at the hostel, she got in the shower. A moment later Austin stepped into the shower with her. He watched her walk down the stairs into the station and turned back towards the hostel. As he started back, he heard someone saying "excuse me" behind him. I have never been to China before and I cannot find my hostel". He asked her "Where are you staying". She replied "Great you speak English, I didn't know what I was going to do. I am staying at the People's Square Youth Hostel." He smiled and said "You are in luck then. That is where I am staying. I will take you there. Follow me."

As they walked by the convenience store, he turned to her asking "Have you ever had Chinese snacks?"
