The Enabler

Chapter 1

“Get out of this house. Immediately” said Mr. Becker to his own son. “I didn’t raise you to be a homosexual. You were supposed to be my pride and joy. My first born son. I would rather have to deal with your death than this”.

“But father, this is just a preference! I’m still your son! I didn’t ask to be born this way, I simply was… I…” Kevin tried to reason but his efforts were useless, his father had made up his mind.

“I’m not your father. Go away. Now. I will give you 2 hours to pack up your things and leave. I don’t want you getting near this house ever again.”

And just like that, Kevin left. Not having any other family members to live with, he was forced to move in with his new boyfriend, Lucas, a 24 year old brazilian who had just graduated from law school. They liked each, of course, they have been dating in secret for a few months… But was it a good idea to move in with someone he had been dating for 4 months and met 6 months ago? He wasn’t so sure. Lucas parked in the driveway and helped Kevin with his bags… He didn’t have much… Just some clothes, his notebook, his digital table and some photo albums.

“I’m so sorry babe, you don’t deserve to be treated this way. I always knew I wanted a life with you, but I didn’t want to move in under this circumstances… You are safe with me now honey”. Lucas said while hugging his boyfriend, both men were crying.

“I love you so much, thanks for taking care of me… Let’s go to your place”

“Our place”, Lucas smirked and kissed his lover. They both entered the car and drove away, never looking back.

Lucas’s apartment was pretty big, specially for someone who just started working. The decoration was insanely tasteful and elegant… The living room had a giant tv and a super comfortable couch, which made Kevin feel happy and excited for his gaming sections! They got hungry and decided to order some food.

“Here, I bought you a big chocolate milkshake to make things better… People say chocolate always make things better.. or something like that” Lucas said as he rubbed his boyfriend’s shoulders.

“Thanks a lot handsome, I sure need something sweet”. They both started eating and for some reason, there was more food for Kevin, even though he was smaller and skinner… He tried not to think about it a lot and just finished his meal and went to bed. He could get used to this.

A few weeks after the incident Kevin had already settled into a routine. He turned 18 a few months ago and couldn’t afford to go to college, in his original plan, his father wouldn’t have known about his sexuality until he graduated college, but unfortunately, his older sister was a conservative snake and after she saw Kevin kissing Lucas in a random park, his life fell apart. Now, he literally didn’t have to do anything, Lucas earned more than enough money to support them, so he just spent every single day playing video games, watching tv and browsing through Instagram, seeing all of his friends fulfill their college’s dreams… Well, at least he had a place to live and didn’t have any bills to pay, also, the food was always amazing: he could order as much take out as he wanted during the day and eat a delicious homemade dinner cooked by Lucas.
