Chapter 4

"Sit." Will said to Rex as he led him into the living room. Rex obediently sat down on the couch across from Will.

"So, um,-" Rex interupted him.

"Yeah I know. It mus be weird having me here."

"No not at all Rex. We love having you here. Your just, so, s-so thin." He exclaimed after staring at Rex's midsection with a look of disgust.

"Yeah I've been told. Sorry?"

"Don't be. It's not your fault your so fucking thin. You dont't have a woman I preusme." Rex just looked at Will and shook his head.

"I don't. Not alot of people seem to interested in me at the moment." Rex replied to Will.

"How so? Your a firefighter. Every woman loves a firefighter to be their man. Have you asked anyone out?"

"Well, not really. I made it clear to some people that I have intrest in them. They don't do anything after I show intrest."

"Sorry to hear that son." Will said as he stared into the kitchen. They could hear rattling and banging noises as Kate rumaged through the cabinets and pantry. She then promptly walked into the living room where the men had been sitting and said; "We need supplies."

"Ok. Rex, do you mind if me and Kate go to the store?"

"No it's fine. I'll just chill here." Rex was abit taken aback to know that they hadn't invited him to go out to the store. "Oh well." He thought. Kate and Will walked to the front door and walked out. But Will stopped and turned around in the threshold of the door and looked at Rex and winked. As soon as he opened his mouth to say something, Will shut the front door and procedded to get into his truck.

"That was weird." Rex said to the surronding air.

While Rex waited for his hosts to get back, he sat on the couch and lazied around. The tv was off and the room was silent except for the hum of the fridge and air vents. He sighed out loud as he rested his chin on his chest and relaxed. His feet were on the edge of the couch and they hung off the side due to his height. With his arms behind his head he started to close his eyes and wait.

He had just fell asleep when the door started to open. He snapped awake and sat up. His ears were erect and his eyes were glued to the door knob...it was if someone was struggling to open it.

"Hmm?" He said? He stood up, thinking it was Will and Kate with hands full of bags. Just as his hand was about two inches from the door knob it swung open and nearly knocked him on his ass.

"Jeez! Damn door!" Penny said as she dropped her bags and kicked the door open.

"Uhh?" Rex uttered as he stood in wonder to see who was standing before him. "Wow!" He thought as his mind drifted to her body...looking and soaking up every inch of skin that showed and every crease in her shirt and blue jeans.

"Rex?!" She shouted at him as she walked toward him as he backed away so she could enter. "Is it really you?" She asked.

"Penny." He said as he held his arms open wide so he could embrace her.

"Oh Rex it's so good to see you hun!" She said as she embraced him ina hug and sqweezed him tighter then he'd ever thought she could. "But wow are you thin!" She was always fond of his belly and enjoyed resting her head on it when ever the laid down next to each other.

"Yes...glad thats the first thing you noticed about me." He chuckled and continued to hug her even tighter.

"Well you changed hun...your belly, it's gone." She said with some dissapointment in her voice as she leaned back in his amrs so she could look at his face.

"Yes...it's gone...I dont mind though, and other people dont seem to mind either." He said as he touched his nose with hers and raised his eyebrows.

"Well yes I suppose. God damn it's good to see you!" She reached for him and just about knocked themselves on the floor.

"Ha! Easy hun, or we'll end up on the floor haha!" He giggled at her and hugged her back with fierce strength.

"Umpf! Your gunna sqweeze the life outta me silly."

"Yeah well you know me...I'm a hugger."

"Yes you are...I'm glad your here. I really missed you." As she said the last part of the sentence she placed her head under his chin and snuggled up to him as much as she could.

"I've really missed you too." He closed his eyes and felt the weight of her push against him and he felt whole. Both their minds filled with bliss and hunger for each others embrace and warm body heat. They were finally at peace with themselves.
