Chapter 5

"So Rex, How've you been son?" Will asked. All four of them sat at the table, Rex and Penny next to each other and Will and Kate opposite of them. Kate had managed to fill the table up with everything and anything italain. Spagetti, raviollis, stuffed shells, and not to mention Rex's stuffed belly as well.

"Well, I've been good enough. Got a job, apartment, anda truck." He said while focusing on the food and what he wanted to eat next. This diner wasn't a dinner at all, it was fucking buffet fir Rex to eat as much as he wanted.

"Thats good." Will said with a smile. "And what about you muffin, how are you?" he asked his daughter.

"I'm great. Glad to see you guys again and I'm, really happy to see, Rex again." She blushed as she said his name. So many memories filled her head a sshe sat next to her ex-boyfriend. She remembered the time she took him out to eat at a chinese place and she ended up driving them back to her house because his belly stuck out so far that he couldn't reach the petals cause he had to push the seat all the way back. And the time she gave him his first belly rub. It was right in public at the Target in Biddeford. She had first meet him there. But that is another story for another time.

"Glad to hear it." Rex said with a gentle smile. She had seen this look before and she knew what that mean't.

"Full?" She said with her eyebrows raised and head tilted off to one side. He just looked at her stunned.

"Well, I, I uh, well-" he stammered

"Oh jeez now he's emmbarssed." Kate said while she nudged Will. "Maybe you should have some more beer then, it might calm your nerves hun." she said as she stood up to grab him another beer.

"Oh relax hun, I'm just teasing you." Penny said playfully. She then realized that something wasnt right with him. His look of confusion said it all.

"Yeah another beer might help." He said as he lowered his eyes to his lap.

"Well I'm just about done here, whats for desert sweetie?" Will said as he stood up to stretch and clear his place. "Damn!" Penny thought, "Dads gunna leave me at the table with him and then Moms gunna leave me here too. Damn Penny think of something! Think think!"

"Oh shoot I forgot to pick up desert. Silly me. I guess you and me will have to go out and get some dear. " Kate said as she winked at her hubby.

"Sounds good to me, I'm sure you kids will be fine here all by yourself right? " He said. "Oh of course you will, your adults for christs sake. We'll be back ina few." Rex and Penny were nodding in unison and smiling but on the inside a volcano was erupting and tornados were touching down, cause now all they had was eachother for the next unknown amount of time. An dwith that said Will and Kate laft again.
