Candace Can't Stop

Chapter 1

March 2022

Candace was a natural born runner. The young woman had a passion for it, and the natural talent to go along with it. She had maintained a top spot within her state's track and field division, an impressive collection of medals won just within the four years of her high school career.

Candace had maintained an inspiring academic and athletic career, and was determined to finish out strong. Her fourth race of the season, her last one before graduation, was about to begin. Candace was standing at the start, surrounded by aspiring athletes and their supportive family.

Once she heard the signal, she was off. She started at a steady pace before overtaking the other runners. The finish line was just in sight, Candace began to push herself hard, giving it her all. Just before reaching that sweet finish line, Candace felt a sharp cramp shoot up her leg, and she tripped and fell to the ground. She crashed onto the track, never finishing the race. Upon further inspection from professionals, Candace had completely broken her ankle falling on it wrong, quickly finishing her career as an athlete.

"Don't worry too much about it, honey," Candace's mother, a more laid-back woman than her active daughter, said as she propped the pillows from behind the injured woman. "You're going to graduate soon anyhow, you've got bigger things to look forward to."

Candace tried to stay optimistic with no such luck. More than six of little to no walking seemed so painful for someone like her. Candace was too depressed the first week to anything more than sleep while she worked through classes online.

The boredom and loneliness were hard to keep at bay, so Candace's mind began to turn to snacking pretty fast. As a young runner, Candace was used to eating without too much concern about what she put into her body. Her quick metabolism and active lifestyle kept the pounds from creeping on, but it also gave her one hell of an appetite. Combined with her mother Karen's more relaxed parenting, the 18-year-old had a collection of snacks at her disposal.

For the first month after her injury, Candace did nothing but watch reality TV, game on her console, and eat. Chips, oreos, pizza bagels... The boredom was eating away at Candace, and so her attention turned to numbing herself with trash television and flavorful goodness.

"Here you go baby, eat up," Karen handed the woman a hefty bowl of spaghetti. Candace began making her way through, her eyes glued to her bedroom TV as she shovelled fork after fork into her mouth. For a moment, she didn't even notice her fork scraping the bottom. Candace called out to her mother.

"Hey, Mom? Can you get me another bowl?" Sure enough, Karen emerged to retrieve her daughter more food.

"Here you go, let me know if you need anything else."

Candace began chowing down on her second bowl, eyes glued to the screen. Sure enough, before long Candace had eaten her second bowl. Her stomach felt round, having had two large bowls of pasta on top of countless snacks. Candace began to rub her bloated belly; partially horrified by her new rounding belly, partially too numb about everything to care. The way her finger tips felt gliding across her tight belly soothed away any lingering thoughts.

Before long, Karen returned to retrieve the bowl. "Mom, can you get me some oreos?" with a dutiful nod, her mother left to retrieve them.

May 2022

After several weeks of this behavior, Candace and Karen got into this routine. Before long, Candace's bloated belly began to give way to a growing layer of fat to replace the girl's once athletic, tight body. Candace paid no mind, munching away on snacks as her body began to expand beneath her, helplessly kept from moving due to her injury.

Eventually, Candace was given clearance to begin going back to her normal lifestyle, though running was currently still out of the question. She would at least be good enough to walk at graduation. Candace's relief did not last long. While at her doctor's, the man gently told her to be careful about her weight, eyeing the protruding belly sticking out just above her growing hips.

Candace was horrified by the realization that she had let her body go. Once home, she gave herself a thorough examination. Candace was definitely wider, softer. Her belly had just a bit of give to it, but just the fact that her fingers just slightly sunk into her belly was enough to make her eyes go wide.

"Candace! Dinner is here!" Exiting her room, the stunned Candace was pulled from her thoughts but the smell of grease hitting her nose. Her mother had gotten a ton of Chinese takeout in celebration of Candace being cleared to walk. With the smell of fried rice and sweet and sour pork reaching her brain, Candace was too intrigued to stop her mother from loading up her plate.

June 2022

Candace tried to control her hiccups as she gripped her controller. She reached over and took another swig from her soda, her third one that day. The young girl had tried in vain to diet and lose weight the beginning of that summer, especially with how embarrassed she felt with how tight her graduation dress had become around her midsection.

Her attempts gradually failed over and over when she would succumb to her usual binge snacking. Once the tightness in her belly would snap her from her trance, she would vow to try again tomorrow, only for tomorrow to end in much the same way. After some time, she had decided to begin her dieting "next week" and enjoy her moon pies and cheetos while she still could.

The results resulted in the former athlete growing into a properly chubby girl. Her belly had become a chubby gut that jiggled with her walk, joined in unison with her steadily growing hips and ass. Her breasts were starting to swell just slightly as well.

Candace polished off the rest of her drink and stifled a burp. Her attention couldn't leave the game under any circumstances.

"Candace!" Karen called out from the other end of the house. Nothing.

"Candace! Lunch!" Karen called out again. Candace huffed, and called out to her mom, "Mom, can you just bring it in here?" followed by the sound of footsteps. Candace's mother walked into her daughter's room and dropped a plate stacked with chicken strips and fries. "You know, you can't run anymore, but you can still get up and walk around now," Karen added dryly. Candace sighed and thanked her mom for the food before digging in, her attention transfixed on the game.

October 2022

"There, done," Candace sighed as she finished typing on her laptop. She had been trying to finish up her midterm paper for the last couple of hours, and it was now well past 1am. Candace sent the paper in and promptly closed the laptop sitting on her stomach.

Candace had decided with Karen to attend an online university. It was far cheaper to stay home and study than leave for the closest college with Candace's desired major (a good 5 hours out; Karen couldn't have her baby live that far away from her). Of course, it also had the added benefit of helping Candace save on food. Candace still got to reap the full benefits of her mom's cooking, and with no classes to attend in person, Candace was left with a lot of free time she unconsciously filled eating.

Candace rubbed her belly and got up from her bed. She made her way as quietly as she could from the kitchen, aware of her mother's snores coming from right down the hallway. It was time for a little post-essay reward.

Candace opened the pantry and began digging through its contents. She grabbed a packet of sponge rolls and began to eat as she continued to look through the cabinet. It wasn't hard to see how the poor, rotund girl had gained weight so quickly, with how well the woman's mother kept the place stocked with all her favorite goodies.

Candace grabbed an instant meal and promptly stuck it in the microwave, sponge roll held in her mouth. Finishing off her sweet treat, she went to grab another. While opening up the dessert packet, she grabbed a family size bag of chips and a bag of Halloween candy. Candace polished off the second pastry while her microwave meal cooked. Once the meal was done, Candace carefully carried the hot food, candy, and bag of chips to her room to eat.

December 2022

"Thanks, Mom, just what I needed," Candace's round face flashed a strained smile over to her mother, her double chin poking out from the girl's once trim jaw line. The girl folded the XL shirt in her hands and threw it atop a pile of new clothes Karen had gotten her for Christmas.

Karen had gone a little crazy clothes shopping this year, much to Candace's reluctance. Candace believed that her mom had gone overboard buying her a ton of oversized clothing because of a small incident this past Thanksgiving. Candace had gotten a little too indulgent and popped a button off of her pants during Thanksgiving dinner. Candace vowed to lose weight come the New Year, after the holidays, and get back to her old, thin self. Her mother said that was a wonderful idea, and surely, Candace would be able to drop the weight this time.

"Here's one that your father sent," Karen handed a small, thin package to her overweight daughter. Opening up its contents, it was a new game for her console, an RPG that had some pretty stellar reviews. Candace smiled at such a fun gift, even one coming from such an estranged figure.

The remainder of the day was spent enjoying her new gift. Candace was practically plugged into her new game, her attention pulled only to snack on remaining holiday candy. God, she could sit there forever and be fully content. Candace reached down to her side and pulled at the tight band of her underwear. It was almost unbearable how much the garment was cutting into her side. She would have to start dieting as soon as it hit January.

March 2023

Candace was sorting through mail for any birthday cards that came in for the growing young woman. Her 19th birthday passed a day prior, and it had gone by without much noise. Candace wasn't much for doing anything big nowadays. In fact, she wasn't big on doing anything much at all.

Candace's dieting plan had gone as expected when the New Year came a few months back. Candace did try at first, except the woman was a much different person than the young Track Star she had been throughout high school. Candace quickly found out that she really didn't enjoy running like she used to. When giving it a go back in January, running for the first time in months, Candace couldn't stand the sensation. She was out of breath in an instant, her entire body jiggling with each awkward step. The fat of her hips would bounce as her meaty legs rubbed together, her chest would feel tight as she gasped for air. She quickly gave up running after the first week, completely discouraged after fighting against her own body. When Karen asked how running was going, Candace said her ankle was still giving her trouble.

Candace's appetite continued to grow along with her body. Candace tried to slow down her eating, she honestly did. She even begged her mom to stop buying so many snacks, to start cooking healthier meals. She would comply for a while, but slowly sugary and fatty treats would somehow end up creeping their way back into their home. Candace tried not to be upset with her mother. After all, food was just her way of expressing love.

Looking through her cards, Candace had collected a decent amount of money sent by distant relatives. Many of the cards from family Candace hadn't seen since she began... growing. 'Hope to see you soon!' the cards would say, and Candace could only imagine the look of shock on their faces to seeing the once healthy girl had been replaced by an obese whale.

Candace was pulled from her thoughts by her phone ringing. Her mother. Candace began chatting away with her mom. She would be staying late at work tonight, but she says there should be enough in the fridge to hold her daughter over. If not, she's always free to order something as well (she knows how hungry Candace can get). Candace reassured her mother before prying herself away from the call. Then she walked towards the fridge.

Candace rubbed her impressive gut as she peered through the fridge. The only thing she could manage to focus on was her leftover birthday cake, roughly half of it left. Though she really should be eating actual food, Candace didn't think twice before pulling her delicious cake from the fridge. Just one little slice, she thought. Cutting the cake, she places a piece roughly the size of three portions onto a plate. Sucking her finger, Candace grabs a fork and immediately digs in. She moans as chocolate fills her mouth. She continues to dig in as her overfed body hovers over the counter. She stuffs her face full of cake, almost not even savoring the cake but just eating to eat. Eating to fill her belly. She licks frosting from her plump bottom lip.

She continues to chew and swallow until her plate is clean. With a pant, Candace rubs her round belly before placing a hand on her engorged hip to catch her breath. Her eyes drift to the remainder of the cake sitting on the counter. God, she's already so full, already so big and fat. She really shouldn't. She rubs her belly as she contemplates what she's about to do.

Without another second wasted, Candace grabbed her fork and the remainder of her cake and left for her bedroom.

April 2023

Candace was left huffing from the walk to the hospital entrance to the spot where her mom had parked. "How'd it go, sweety?" Karen asked innocently as her obese daughter collapsed in the passenger seat, exhausted.

"It, uh, went fine. My ankle is looking good. Should be able to go back to exercising now," Candace gave her mother a weak smile. In her hand was a pamphlet to a nutrition clinic. Upon checking Candace's ankle and other vitals, Candace's doctor quickly turned the conversation to his patient's weight. Needless to say, he was not happy with his patient binge eating herself into obesity.

After gently prodding the girl about her high BMI and lifestyle choices, he began going over tips to lose weight and provided information for a local dietitian. After what felt like 30 minutes of humiliation, Candace was okay to leave.

"He said my vitals look good... Blood pressure and everything..." Candace wiped the sweat from her forehead, her round cheeks flushed pink.

"That's good!" the van started up, "how are you feeling? Do you need to stop anywhere?" Karen asked. Candace folded up the brochure and awkwardly placed it in her tight pocket.

"Can we stop by Panda Express? I'm really craving orange chicken," Candace asked innocently.

July 2023

Candace was fanning herself in an attempt to fight the heat, though waving her chubby arm around may have counteracted whatever "cooling" she was getting. Strands of blonde hair laid slick on her forehead. Her breasts were straining her red, white, and blue top. It was a miracle the folding chair she was currently sitting in was managing to hold her up, Candace's swollen bottom peering off the sides of the chair.

"Candace! Do you want anything on your hotdogs?" Karen called out to her daughter from the food table. "Ketchup, mustard..." Candace could feel sweat drip down her second chin. She couldn't believe she used to run in heat like this. She couldn't believe people were out here enjoying this.

Karen walked over to her daughter under the tent shade, one plate of loaded hotdogs on their way to be devoured. She wished her daughter would do a bit more mingling at her coworker's July 4th cookout, but she was just happy to see her finally out of the house. Candace had become such a hermit in the past year. "Do you need anything else, sweety?"

Already stuffing her face, Candace mumbled a no thank you before focusing on her food and phone. She began choking down a hotdog while her shirt hem rode further up her belly. While chewing away, Candace noticed that a young boy, no more than five, was staring at her eating. Candace continued to make her way through her plate as she looked over to the boy, his eyes never leaving her. After a while, the boy walked up to her and asked, "why is your tummy so big?"

Candace was taken aback. She sat there for a moment thinking of how to answer the boy's innocent question. After a minute, she finally said, "because I like to eat too much."
