Quitting the expectations

Chapter 1

„Bye mom, bye dad! Drive home safely!“ Chloe said to her parents. We had a nice dinner with them as we always have. When Chloe closed the door, she let out a sign of relief and exhaustion. She had carefully planned the whole evening and everything went nicely, that´s what I thought at least: „Oh my god, I can´t believe that we forgot to season the meat! I wanted to die when Dad asked for some salt!“

Hey…so what, we forgot to season one of the five meals we prepared, there was so much to eat. It was delicious!“ I tried to comfort her but I knew that she wouldn´t get over this irrelevant matter soon. She always wants everything to be perfect, not very good, but perfect.

Perfection has been Chloe´s motto for her whole live. In school she always got A´s obviously. She voluntarily learned about things that wasn´t meant for her age. Nobody could compete with her, not in school, not in sport, not even in beauty. She was 10/10 in every way, ALWAYS.

We are a couple for 8 years now and couldn´t be happier. We fell in love at the end of high-school and never lost interest in each-other. While Chloe is a very smart, tidy person who you could also describe as a bit conventional or boring in a way, I am more a relaxed human, knowing my responsabilities but worse organized than my girl-friend. I think, we are such a good couple because we are so different. She supports me in organisation and not becoming too lazy and I comfort her with my comforting and calm way of looking at things.

I know that Chloe is a super stunning woman. With her perfect figure with 120 pounds, her visible abs, thin arms and all in all a super fit body that is perfectioned by her beautiful face, brown hairs and blue eyes. Besides, she has a nice fashion style. I am just so lucky that I met her in school. In the outside-world I would have never asked her out. But as we got closer I noticed that she isn´t perfect after all. Although everybody calls her a 10, they don´t know that it can get pretty exhausting to be with a perfectionist. If things don´t work in the exact way, it should have worked, the days can get rough.

Once we came closer, she told me about her childhood and how she always felt as if she had to fulfill the high expectations of her parents which were never annonced by them. She started spending time in things, she thought, her parents would consider senseful. And so, she read books and more books, started working out as hell and swallowed her childish wishes. Until this day, her whole mind is just focused on the way to impress her parents and her whole environment.

„Could you clean up the kitchen, babe? I wanna go for a run before we go to bed. Need to burn this calories.“
„Of course, why don´t you go to sleep directly? You look so tired!“
„I aaaam, but….must burn this calories, I can´t allow myself to get fat!“ Chloe said, giving me a kiss.
