Chapter 6 - the priority

Tommy’s friends regarded Jane with distrust and suspicion. In fact, some of them were downright rude to her whenever Tommy wasn’t around. They couldn’t understand why the campus stud had suddenly fallen head over heels in lust with such an average, plain-looking girl.

Relations were strained on all sides. The guys hated Jane for taking their buddy away, and Tommy got angry whenever Jane would recount one of their snide remarks to him. He’d march right up to the perpetrator and defend Jane with a passion that made Jane feel even more attracted to him; if that were even possible!

“You know that coach is pissed with you?” shouted one of Tommy’s friends, trying to make himself heard as the star football jock kissed Jane passionately in the corner of the kitchen area; Jane perched on the muscular boy’s strong, athletic thigh, their hands roaming everywhere. “That’s the second time this week you’ve skipped training to be with…” he grumbled, clearly unable to even say Jane’s hateful name.

“Oh, really?” Tommy smiled in disinterest, coming out of the kiss and grinning proudly at his girlfriend; shifting the girl’s hair out of her face with his strong, skilled hands.

Jane smiled, taking the brief respite to feel Tommy’s large and powerful biceps. Was this really HER boyfriend? It was almost unbelievable!

“I’ve got better things to do than go to training,” Tommy teased, his voice seductive and lustful as he looked straight at Jane. “Much... much better things!”

Sighs of disapproval could be heard ringing out throughout the space, no doubt accompanied by the rolling of eyes or theatrical retching. But Tommy clearly didn’t care, heading straight back in for another kiss, even more passionate than the last.

“They’re just immature,” Tommy whispered as the room emptied around them; everyone fed up of watching this display. “They’ve never felt love like this before. They don’t understand.”

“Love?” Jane asked, smiling with delight.

“Yes,” Tommy nodded emphatically, before slowly whispering into her ear. “I love you!”
