Chapter 2 - clumsy encounter

Trust me to turn my alarm on my phone off! I thought to myself as i quickly made my way on the side walk. Trying to jog in heels isn't fun! I complained to myself. This is what you get Michaela for not learning how to drive! I moaned to myself. The time was 9:32, I should have started work at 9. With about other 20 minute walk till i arrived at my work place, I was gonna be about an hour late for work. Pulling out my phone I started to text Debbie, one of my work colleagues, Explained my absence, I was to busy focusing on my phone, That I didn't notice the man walking out the coffee shop as i turned the corner, Speed walking right into him, Which obviously made him drop his cup of what ever coffee he had

I'm so sorry! I apologised as stepped back from him, are you alright? I asked as i noticed the spilled coffee on the pavement. I'm fine, the man replayed, Can't say the same for my coffee though, He said looking on the floor. Please! Please! let me buy you a new one! I'm incredibly sorry! I'm in a rush and wasn't paying attention! I frantically say as I pull out my purse from my bag and rummage about for some money. "There's really no ne-" No! I insist! i said cutting him off. Here this should cover it, i say handing him the odd coin and note. I'm really sorry again by the way! Please forgive me! But I got to go! I said throwing my purse back into my bag, Or at the time that's what i thought, In a attempt to make my quick exit from this awkward situation. I didn't realise that i had totally missed putting my purse into my bag, with it just laying on the pavement next to spilled coffee.

Well that was something, the man thought to himself while holding the change of a total stranger. Hmm? His attention suddenly turned back to the pavement, But this time not on the spilled coffee. Oh dear seems like she dropped her purse, He quickly bent down to pick it up. But as he held it in his hands, The woman was gone, no where to be seen. Oh well there's that, He thought to himself as he opened it to have a look. "Michaela" He said

Oh Michaela you really are an idiot! Imagine walking straight into somebody, Not once but twice in only 1 day! I thought as i continued to make my way to work. You totally made a fool of yourself in front of that guy. Awww and he was hansom toooo, I cringed to myself just thinking about it again. Eventually i made it to work, 10:05 am... I moaned as i made my way to the elevator. Arriving on my floor I made my way to my desk. As i was getting myself all sorted i felt a hand lay on my shoulder. Not like you to be late like this Michaela, A calm male voice said. Oh Mr Franklin I'm really sorry about being late! I accidentally slept in this morning, then I had this really awkward incident happing on my way here! i apologised frantically.

Chill Chill, Its only an hour! He softly replied. Your here now so that's all that matters. Anyway I got stuff to do, I'll speak to you later, He said walking away with what I assume was important papers in his hands. Oh I don't think I've mentioned this, But I'm a reporter, with a bit of accounting work on the side when I'm not writing stories for our company. At the moment however I'm doing some important accounting work. It's not the greatest job, But it's a heck lot more interesting than doing a simple office job that's for sure.

The day went on like usual, Checking the business finances and all, Ever since we stared are own news website, Profits have never been better, Goes to show more people read stuff online now rather and a newspaper. O remembered my plans to go clothes shopping with Stacy after work, Sending her a quick text, I ask her if she could pick me up after work, As I was doing this i realised I could of just asked her to drop me off at work this morning. Great! If only i actually took a second to think, I wound never of dumped into that guy. I cringed again thinking about it. Stacy got back and was totally OK with picking me up. Finishing my shift i clocked out and made way to the lift the out the building. Where I seen Stacy's car across the road. After making sure it was ok to cross, I made my way over and jumped in the car. Girl your hair looks terrible! Stacy chuckled. Well i did have to make a quick exit form my place this morning, Didn't even have time to stylize it! I whined. Anyway, let's get going, I've been looking forward to this, Stacy said as she started her car and started driving. Same, I could do with some shopping after the embarrassing day I've had!
