“Just a gallon of butter pecan ice pecan ice cream” Marnesia said through the cell phone.
“Are you sure that’s all you want?” Bernard asked, as if daring her to ask for more.
“Since you asked…” Marnesia answered, taking him up on his offer. “I would love a double cheeseburger, meal with a large soda.”
Marnesia waited for his response, hoping she hadn’t asked for too much.
“No problem.” Bernard said unfazed. “I will be there in 45 minutes.”
Marnesia hung up the phone and sighed. Falling limp on to the bed her big black body made the bed creek under all of her weight. She had to confess, she was a mess for Bernard. He was beyond what she could have dreamed of in a man.
