Chapter 1 - Fit to Fat - Start

After seeing it done online Alec knew that he too wanted to do it. He had just finished watching a series online called Fit to Fat to Fit where a guy did just that to see how hard or easy it would be. Alec was sure it would be easy, after all, he was convinced that "those fatties shoved too much in and they didn't move nearly as much as they ought to". Alec thought of his body as a temple; he loved showing off his rock-hard abs and flexing his biceps. He loved showing off how his body was superior to others at the gym by posing in the mirrors and working out by the windows whenever possible.

He knew that his body was better than the guy's in the series by a mile so the idea came into his head that he should go further, coupled with his view that the original series didn't go far enough anyway convinced him to upscale the challenge, that's-to-say go bigger.

Alec was going to document the challenge weekly on his Instagram, first posting an explanation post. It read:

"Starting Jan 1st I'll be packing on the pounds for an entire year before losing it all again to show those fatties just how easy it is to be in shape".

Alec didn't expect the growth that this post would have on his profile, he made the post late on the 30th December and by the first, his account had 30k more followers and the announcement post gathered more likes than any of his other posts by almost double. On the 1st he posted his initial weigh-in: 85kg/190lbs. He also posted a video showing off his body with all the usual poses and flexes.

The first week was a real change of pace for Alec, normally, he would limit his intake closely and never ever eat fast food or junk foods, but for this challenge, he would be stuffing himself and posting it on Instagram. By the end of the first week, Alec was still fit however his abs had faded and his stomach had started to bow outward, in a weigh-in post he stepped on the scales to find he'd put on a whopping 10kg/22lbs. He didn't expect it to be quite so much but he could definitely see it, his arce had gotten rounder; his pecs felt fuller and his arms and legs lost most to all of their definition.

Over the next nine weeks, Alec gained a lot less than in that first week but he could certainly still see his body changing, he suspected he was losing a lot of muscle mass in these first three months. By week ten he had gained an additional 19kg/42lbs to the 10kg/22lbs in week one and by this point, Alec had really started to look like a fat guy, he had to upsize his clothes to accommodate the extra weight. His stomach had rounded out into a prominent fat gut, it was accompanied by a little pair of moobs that sat where Alec once had solid pecs. His face had become chubby and his arms flabby. By this point, in the challenge, Alec wondered if he had made the right decision in choosing to do this and if he should just make up a reason as to why he couldn't continue but when he saw the likes and the followers that were flooding into his account and the income this made him he decided he was going to see this challenge through to the end.
