Chapter 3 - cake

"Would you like some cake?" Scott offered, sliding up next to Robyn the moment Harvey left her side one Friday night at their mutual friend's apartment. "I discovered this amazing bakery last week and just had to bring one along tonight," he smiled, trying to be friendly.

In truth, he had discovered this bakery through a gainer forum, online. Cheap, delicious and highly calorific; he'd just had to buy some ready for Robyn tonight!

Robyn politely smiled back at him, seeming to relax. "Sure, I could go for some cake," she nodded playfully. How had Scott not noticed how truly beautiful she was before? His breath seemed to catch in his chest under the warm gaze of her soft eyes.

"I have to warn you though," he cautioned. "It looks extremely calorific!" He pulled the lid off the cake box and held it for Robyn to marvel at. Then, without instruction, he set a sharp knife to it. "I hope you're not watching your waist line?" he chuckled; cutting the pretty girl a huge wedge and watching her eyes bulge as he passed it over.

"That's not too much is it?" he asked.

"No, no..." Robyn replied hastily. "I'm sure I can manage," she smiled, setting a fork to it happily.

Scott stayed to watch, enjoying seeing and hearing Robyn's appreciation of the fattening treat. "I told you it was good, right?" he smiled. "The girl at the bakery told me their secret ingredient," he went on.

"Oh yeah?" Robyn replied with interest.

"Yeah, apparently, a lot of the sponge mix is made with pure lard," he chuckled. "Why do you think I asked you if you were watching your figure first?" he teased. "You might as well have another slice," Scott went on, already cutting a large second wedge. "I already told everyone else about the lard and no one wants to touch it now," he sighed, lying through his teeth. "Good job you're here though," Scott smiled, walking away confidently. "Eat as much as you want."

Robyn and Harvey didn't stay much more than an hour after that, saying that they had an early start in the morning. But as the door closed after they had left, Scott leapt up and went into the kitchen to check on his cake.

"Are you looking for that cake you brought?" asked his pal, Gray. "Harvey's girlfriend just took it," he laughed. "I saw her eat about four slices and then she wrapped the rest with foil and stuck it in her handbag!" he laughed. "How cheeky is that?" he tutted, bemused by the strange girl's antics.

Scott shook his head in mock disgust. How could Robyn be so damn perfect?
