Chapter 5 - Thanksgiving

Within no time, Thanksgiving was almost upon them. Being the only one who hadn’t been home to visit his family, Jesse’s friends began to question him about what he would be up to whilst they were away. They couldn’t get their heads around the fact that Jesse’s family had never made a big deal of Thanksgiving and that he had no intention of leaving the lonely dorms for it.

“Come and spend it with my family,” Ben offered, seeing that the group had stumbled upon an awkward sticking point for Jesse and his underwhelming relationship with his family back home. “My mom always makes far too much and she will be delighted to have someone else join us this year.”

“Seriously?” Jesse asked, a little embarrassed about how much his face had lit up. “They won’t mind?”

Ben smiled. “Trust me. My mom will love having someone else to overfeed this year!” he joked.

It was clear that Ben had not been exaggerating. Jesse had never seen so much food at a dinner table before. He looked over at Ben, starting to understand his enormous size a little more. Everyone in his family was huge, from his aunts, to his grandparents. And why wouldn’t they be, indulging in all of this? The grease glistening off the roast potatoes; the giant slabs of fatty meat on all of their plates. Ben’s inhibitions had gone as well. Back with his family, his natural greed was on full display as he gorged, then snacked the entire time. Jesse wondered what his parents would think of him, sat there with them all. They’d no doubt comment on how disgustingly fat they all were; looking down their noses at every single one of them. Perhaps that was why there was also a strange eroticism for Jesse to keep up. He’d trained to play football, so he was no stranger to massive meals. But being gluttonous just for the sake of it was new and exciting for him, and he felt his blood beginning to pump into his groin as he sat at the table with a family of absolute pigs.

“More dessert?” Ben’s mother asked Jesse, ladle ready to spoon some more out for him.

“Yes please,” Jesse nodded, feeling the tightness in his shirt arousing him.

“Well, in that case,” chuckled Ben’s very large father with a smirk, “you might as well spoon some more on for me,” he joked, seeming to notice Jesse’s excellent appetite and make a friendly competition out of it all. “I’m not about to be outdone by a newbie at Thanksgiving!” he laughed.

Jesse laughed too. He’d taken to Ben’s family with ease, finding the relaxed atmosphere of their home so unlike the one he had grown up in. Ben’s father, a simple enough manual worker, seemed to look at his son with such love and admiration; as if he hardly believed he had a boy smart enough to be studying for a PhD at college. It was certainly nothing like the reaction Jesse had had when he’d told his parents about his future plans after his sports career had ended. And so, despite how full and tight Jesse’s stomach felt, he kept on eating, eager to keep up the friendly spirit of competition.
