Just ordered lots of chinese food

Depends on the Chinese restaurant and which dishes they do particularly well. My local place makes excellent twice-cooked pork, sweet and sour combo, and egg rolls. There used to be another restaurant with great ma po tofu and Singapore noodles, but they sold to someone else during COVID and now the food sucks. smiley Then there's a little hole in the wall in Denver that specializes in Szechuan dry pot. Oh my god, that stuff is so good!

I miss my neighborhood Chinese restaurant in California. They did really good taro buns, egg foo yung, and black bean chicken.

Then there's dim sum, which is a whole different thing. I have no idea what most of the dishes I eat there are called, I just recognize my favorites and point.

Too cold or too hot

The best part about moving to Colorado was winter! I can't stand the heat. Cold weather can't come fast enough as far as I'm concerned. I sweat so much when it's hot outside. All this blubber insulates me too well!

Eat nuts

I've been eating a lot of nuts ever since I discovered that high carb foods were the major culprit behind my digestive issues. (RIP pasta, potatoes, bread, sweets... I still eat them if I'm prepared to deal with the pain though.) I still lost some weight without my beloved carbs, but not all that much given how fat I was when I started. Maybe 20 pounds? I still weigh about 325 and seem to have stabilized there over the past year. Nuts, cheese, heavy cream, fatty meats, all help keep the weight on.

A huge shout out

HappyBigBelly:
Ah, I could go on and on about food chains that skimp on ingredients :-) Remember to buy local, whenever possible!

Absolutely. I love discovering little hole in the wall restaurants, that's where I find the best food. If it looks a little sketchy but smells fantastic, you know the food's going to be great.

What is it like…

Doughboy90:
i’ve got one would like to have your waist band expand so much that makes it difficult to find underwear or well fitting pants and/or shorts.

I'm already there! Why is it so damn hard to find boyshorts in fat girl sizes? RIP Catherine's, I used to be able to find them there.

On being "food-focused"

I've always been a foodie. I love to try new foods, read restaurant reviews extensively to find the perfect bowl of tonkotsu ramen or the best gyros in town, cook, bake, serve my culinary creations to others... you name it, if it has to do with food I'm into it. I have a sensitive nose and a discerning palate, which makes food that much more enjoyable for me.

To me, food only has to do with kink in the context of kink. Otherwise it's a wonderful part of everyday life, but not necessarily a sexy thing. Most people I know locally come to me for restaurant recommendations now, because they know I know good food! Last time I went to the dentist she was all excited to hear about my latest restaurant finds. smiley

A huge shout out

And restaurants that pile their sandwiches high with meat and cheese rather than skimping! There's a diner about half an hour from me that serves the best Monte Cristos ever, so tall that you have to squish it down some to take a bite.

Best and worst things about being fat/getting fat

My favorite parts of getting fat are the amazing softness of my body and the ability to eat whatever I want, however much I want. I love the sensation of jiggling when I move, of my belly hitting my thighs as I huff and puff my way up the stairs. I'm heavy and ponderous. I waddle and break a sweat almost immediately when I have to walk somewhere. It all brings home the fact that I've reshaped my body into something completely different, suited only for lazing around and eating.

The worst parts are other people's attitudes toward my body and the expense involved. Clothes are definitely an issue, especially since Avenue and Catherine's were both victims of the pandemic. But food gets expensive too. I'm hoping to get a decent job in the next year to 18 months that will allow me to eat more and buy bigger clothes.

What does fat symbolize to you?

To me fat is comfort, indulgence, and most of all control. I'm not letting other people tell me how I should look, what I should eat, or how much anymore. I indulge in whatever I feel like eating, until I'm fully satisfied, and my body shows it. My flab is a monument to self-indulgence and a rejection of society's attempts to shove me in a box.

My feet and the scale vanished long ago! I have to bend over to see how much I weigh.
