Chapter 19 - new beginnings

“I can’t believe it!” Adam gasped, feeling as if his whole world was crumbling all around him. He was losing the one person he had believed he was going to spend the rest of his life with. All those images of weddings and growing old together, seemed to turn to ash, scattered on a winter breeze. “I can’t believe it,” he repeated, exasperated and dumbfounded. This was it; the end of the line.

“Neither can I!” Holly exclaimed; a smile filling her face that seemed so at odds with how Adam was feeling inside. “I’m going to have my own sports radio show!”

Adam looked across at his grinning girlfriend. “Your what?” he asked. “Your own show?”

“All Bill’s work!” Holly chattered. “He’s sorted everything. That’s why I’ve been working so late recently, getting things in order. It’s been late night take-outs with the crew for weeks! I’m going to have my own billboard!” She turned and paced the room. “I can’t believe my mother spoiled the surprise! I was going to tell you over dinner tonight. I’ve made a reservation. They’re just thrilled, especially my mom. She’s over the moon that you were clever enough to introduce me to Bill. She's been singing your praises ever since!”

Adam swallowed back his shock. So Holly hadn’t been cheating on him after all! “That’s amazing!” he shouted, throwing himself into his large girlfriend and feeling her thick, puffy arms lovingly embrace him back. No wonder Holly’s mom had been pleased to see him earlier. The woman finally had what she always wanted in a daughter: a sports star.

“I made sure that Bill ordered something very important for me in my new studio,” Holly hinted, with excitement dripping from her surprisingly composed tone. “A very large, very wide, very strong chair for me to sit in whilst I’m doing my show. Something for me to grow into, don’t you think..?”

Adam grinned wickedly. “Let’s cancel that reservation tonight,” he smiled, rubbing the wide expanse of his girlfriend’s butt. “I think we should get take-out instead,” he chuckled, now unbuttoning his heavy girlfriend’s tight blouse. “Lots of it!”
