Chapter 1

Anna sat at the dinner table of her parent's house morosely. She slowly scraped the bottom of her plate clean. The single serving of lasagna was gone too quickly, and even though she knew what would happen, she reached for the serving spoon.

Smack. Diane her stepmother swatted Anna's hand away. "I think that's more than enough don't you dear?" She asserted sternly leaning forwards to eye her new stepdaughter. Her eyes fixed on Anna's midsection "Young women should be careful with their figure."

Leo, Anna's new stepbrother, snorted at his mom's words. When Anna glared at him he just grinned and shoved another forkful of his third serving into his mouth demonstratively.

Anna frowned "It's one slice Diane, I'm just a little hungry."

"Lack of discipline is only going to hurt you. If you want to get your own place perhaps, then you can make your own rules." She asserted smiling sharply.

Anna huffed and stood irritated shoving her seat back in and taking her plate to the sink. If she had the money to move out she would have as soon as Ms. Proper Lady and her son moved in. However, the 18 year old had no luck looking for work yet and so was stuck with her dad's new choices. Variations on this argument had occurred repeatedly in the month since her dad started working abroad in Europe. Anna pled her case every way she knew but Diane held firm.

Her father would be gone for another five months before he came back but even then only for a month before he had to leave again. Without any support Anna could only sit and suffer her stepmother's whims.

Leo on the other hand faced no such restrictions. At the table he reached for a fourth serving of lasagna. His stomach was already putting strain on his black T-shirt that had fit just fine last month before the new regime. But where Anna got restrictions and discipline, Leo got indulgence.

He had to be full Anna thought, Leo hadn't skimped on the previous three servings at all but she watched from the kitchen as he dumped a huge slab of cheese and meat on his plate. Twice what Anna's only serving had been.

Leo burped and rubbed his left hand absently over his growing belly. "The lasagna's awesome Mom. I was starving." He claimed digging back in.

Diane smiled softly. "Thank you baby. I'm glad you like it she cooed.

Leo looked over to where Anna seethed in the doorway and grinned. He scraped another heaping mouthful down then looked back to his Mom.

"Any chance of desert?"
