Chapter 2 - a plan

"How much do you weigh now, sweetie?" Megan took out a small compact and began to touch up a spot on her face.

Josephine grimaced and looked away. Somehow, saying it made it reality. That was absurd, of course, but she couldn't help but feel it. She began to rub the back of her neck. "Well, it's been a few days, but last time I weighed myself I was just under 200 pounds. "

Megan closed her compact and turned, "Stop it. I've known you since we were in middle school. Don't you lie to me. There is NO way you are under 200. I'd wager slightly over at this point. 210 seems about right."

207. Fuck. Hearing it in the open...God...what had happened to her. Sam had happened to her. I could really go for one of his brownies right now. Stop it! Josephine nodded, "Yea..."

"Well, I've been your friend a long time and I'm not going to sit here and watch this. It's gone on long enough. I've got to go on a diet myself and you're coming with me." She ran a hand through her blonde hair.

Josephine laughed, "Megan, you haven't gained a pound our entire relationship. Now, you're just rubbing it in!"

"Well, I'll have you know I've put on about 3 pounds in the past few months, so we've got something in common. I say we fix our mutual problem."

"I don't know. I mean it's not that bad..."

"This isn't optional. Diet and Exercise from here on out, sweetie. No excuses. And NO food court this time." She poked Josephine's belly.

Josephine rolled her eyes and sighed even as her stomach gave up a muffled growl.

"That's what she said! I mean...I know I've put on a few pounds, but is it really that bad?" Josephine delicately nibbled on the corner of one of Sam's brownies. "Maybe I should go on a diet. It can't hurt. I just hate salad, you know that, and I've never been good when it comes to discipline. It's hard for me." She picked up another brownie.

"Baby, first off, you look great. Sure, you've gained a little, but I've hardly noticed. It looks great on you. I'm sure Megan wasn't trying to hurt your feelings or anything." He pushed the warm pan a bit closer to her. '

"You'll have to stop baking me things like this! I know that for a fact."

"I still have my cooking classes, but I can make things and just take them with me. Give them to the class to sample. That really won't be a big deal if this would make you feel better. I don't mind helping however I can." Josephine shoved the last bit of the second brownie into her mouth and Sam brought another one towards her on his spatula. Chocolate fudge. Multiple layers. Some chocolate dripped on the table.

Josephine took it. "Honestly, just getting out of these pants would make me feel better right about now." She reached down with her empty hand and popped the straining button on her tight jeans. She sighed loudly before beginning to nibble on the brownie. "I guess that proves Megan's point huh? These used to be my fat jeans..."

"Doesn't mean anything. I still say you look great and if you're enjoying yourself that's all that matters. I'll get you some milk."

"No, Megan's right. Having someone else hold me accountable will help me do this too. I'll feel better and you can have that skinny girl you first fell in love with back." Another brownie bit the dust. She lifted another large gooey treat from the nearby pan.

Sam nodded and poured the milk. From the side, he could see Josephine's belly bulging forward. It forced her now unbuttoned pants to split apart in a wide V. A gulf of space now overflowing with pale flesh. Her freed tummy rested on the over-stressed zipper, an act which only forced it down as she stuffed herself with more fattening brownies. Sam paused as he heard the faint, familiar "click" of the zipper losing another notch. Another two bites were followed by another tell-tale "click." If Josephine noticed she didn't seem to care. Eating seemed to absorb her entire attention. Her whole world became getting that sweet treat into her. He stood quietly watching as she nibbled her way through another. Her fleshy cheeks bulging with food before swallowing with a happy grunt. She was like a machine when it came to food. One that he had tooled with over time. Slight adjustments here and there. It wasn't difficult to enable Josephine's inner glutton, but to do so and make sure her self-esteem was maintained had been a challenge. He was finally making headway. Now Megan was threatening to undo the progress. Unfortunate.

He placed the milk on the table and watched as she smiled and drank.
"click"
She followed with the last brownie in the pan, but stopped short of fully placing it between her lips. She looked quizzically at it and then at Sam. "I guess I should stop eating all these sweets if I'm going to be doing this diet, right?" She paused. The brownie hovering inches from her luscious lips. Angel and Devil warring inside her. Her eyes glanced to Sam for help.

"You're going to start tomorrow." Go ahead and enjoy yourself tonight. I'll make you something extra special to celebrate."

She smiled and took another large bite.
