The Slowing Messenger Dragon

Chapter 1

A woman laid peacefully in bed under her nice sheets. Her messy long black hair was sprawled all over her pillow. Her bangs covered one of her eyes as she slept soundly. Then a device went off next to her making a ringing noise. The woman opened her eyes yawning as she hit the top of the alarm to shut it off. She stretched her arms smiling as her bat like wings spread out as well. Her long dark lizard tail followed as well. She rubbed her horns on top of her head, while also rubbing her light brown eyes.

"Hmmm am I forgetting something…"
"Oh! I have a delivery, I'm actually busy today!" the woman grinned.

This woman's name was Victoria. She was a dragoness that lived among humans, and a messenger for the kingdom. Victoria was responsible for delivering important documents for trade or communications between kingdoms. They could be delivered by horse or bird. But it was faster and safer for the dragon to do it with such harsh conditions at times. She was integral for the kingdom's success in the past war. Sending and receiving information faster than other kingdoms had its advantages. Victoria was known for her fast speed as the messenger and commanding strength as a dragon. However, she never fought in the war as she didn't like fighting and killing other humans for that matter.

Victoria was happy as this was the first delivery in a while. Lately her trips had been slowing down since the war ended years ago. Now she got a job every 1-2 months on average. On the bright side for the dragoness, it gave her more down time to indulge in other interests and connect with her friend, queen Sydney. However, on the other hand, it left her bored most days. Usually, she had nothing to do and wanted to feel more useful. Though there was another downside she would come to notice.

Victoria reached over her nightstand for her brush and tamed her long hair to straighten it out. Standing at 5ft 5in, she had to admit, the woman looked good for a 98-year-old dragon. She had a beautiful, matured face that didn’t look a day over 35. But say a mildly clever joke and her laugh would reveal smile lines in her cheeks. Not to mention some light crow's feet around her eyes that put her into the younger 40's. However, say a joke any cleverer and it’ll go right over her head, met with a confused look on her face.

But she was still very pretty and a bit youthful too with no wrinkles normally. Her skin all over her body was smooth and taut as well. When she was staying in her home kingdom with the queen, she would get spoiled with the royalty treatment. Oil massages, sauna, and more. Everything the queen would get.

She yawned and stretched some more in her favorite room. Every kingdom had different accommodations for a messenger. But none like her home room. A lavish master bedroom almost the same a queen would have. A king-sized bed with a large horizontal mirror across the room, facing her. And another thin full body one outside her walk-in closet. She had her own full bathroom. Even a small balcony with a view of the sky and kingdom. She loved it here.

Getting out of bed and walking past her smaller mirror she glanced at herself. She was in her underwear with her perky C cup boobs hugging her bra tightly. Victoria's panties clung to her flaring hips as well.

However, she noticed something… different this time. Stepping back in front of her mirror she noticed her body looked a bit... softer than usual. Above her panties, where in the past a soft flat stomach was, now gently protruded a slight plush tummy. If her past self knew she would get some flab one day, she would be quite upset. This was the most noticeable change for the middle-aged dragon. The soft pudge curved out 2 inches at most with a tummy starting to form. She turned around and looked at her back, she had two small folds on her lower back and noticed her sides were slightly bulging. It gave her a small muffin top forming above her underwear.

She pinched her plush midriff, grimacing at her proof of indulgence. Her curves were still perky and full but looked a bit bigger. More padding on her figure. It was noticeable in her butt too as it looked slightly more rounded in each cheek. Her legs also looked slightly thicker too with a thin layer of fat covering them. She poked her thigh, noticing it had more give than she remembered as it jiggled a bit.

"Hmmm," Victoria blushed

Though this didn't happen over a few weeks or months. This change was gradually collected over 4 years since the war ended. She had her suspicions as to why. First her job as a messenger had slowed down quite a bit and she didn't use up her time flying around all day. Second was her increasing meals with queen Sydney. Since her workload has slowed down a lot, Victoria had gotten closer with the queen. The dragoness spent more time with her and her lax habits. Another reason might be the fact that she's getting...older.

Her metabolism might not be working as well as it used to back years ago. She looked good for her age but didn't want to lose her nice figure. Although she was still smaller than the majority of the women in this kingdom. Thanks to more prosperity and the queen's influence, many girls were plush around the waistline lately. Maybe this new lax lifestyle around humans was making her softer in more ways than one. She never thought about her looks or figure before. After all it wasn't like she ever had time for a man. Even being thin, she was still a dragon. A relationship seemed impossible to make with another species.

"I'll worry about this later I suppose. Alright, let's get dressed. I need to get going in a few minutes," Victoria nodded.

The girl took out her uniform for the delivery job. First, the dragoness put on her black stockings to keep her legs warm when flying. Next, she put on her black skirt. It was a short form fitting skirt, coming up to her upper thighs. She got it over her butt just fine, however closing her buttons took a bit more effort. After she buttoned them her small muffin top looked a bit bigger as her clothing clung to her soft body.

"Oh goodness is it noticeable?" Victoria grimaced poking her tummy.

Next, she put a belt around her skirt. Though she didn't need it since it wasn't loose on her like in the past. She still thought it would be best just in case of high winds. Wouldn't want to flash anyone after all. The dragoness put it on the second to first notch then sighed wondering where she put her blouse uniform.

"Hmm where… did I put it… on the bed?" She said to herself, scratching her head.

Then Victoria looked down giggling as it had been knocked to the ground. She knew her tail had hit something. The woman was quite the air head at times. She bent down as her rolls grew a bit more pronounced reaching for it. Then Vic put the red blouse over her upper body. She pulled it down and began buttoning it. The dragoness had an easy time until the last button. She sucked in her belly, tugging the sides together until she buttoned them. However, this exposed a sliver of pale flesh. Victoria pulled the fabric down until it covered her better. Sadly, this didn't hide her new slight belly bulge or plush sides.

"Oh gosh this used to have a little room in it, I think?" Victoria blushed.

The dragoness then sat on the bed as she pulled up her black heeled boots. This gave her 2 inches of height as she smiled looking in the mirror. She looked good but just had some padding. Like a happy woman with an easy life. Again, not bad for a woman her age. Then she wrapped a white scarf around her neck to keep her warm as well. Victoria swayed her hips a bit, walking out to the balcony. She smiled feeling the sun beat down on her face. It was rising up at 8:00 in the morning. She spread her wings as she braced to take off. Then the woman blushed realizing she almost forgot her bag. She tapped herself on the head while sticking her tongue out.

“I’m always forgetting something,” she said with a sigh and a smile.

She wrapped the bag around her shoulder. Then Victoria took one mighty flap with her wings and took off into the sky. Vic smiled as she closed her eyes feeling the breeze on her face. Opening them she looked at the high view. Being so close to the clouds felt nice, along with the bright sun beaming on her light tan skin. She saw the kingdom down below as the buildings looked so small from up here. It was a vast area that spanned miles around. Soon she exited the rural area as she looked down at all the greenery and hills. Not to mention the rivers running between. Some birds began flying next to her as she flew above them smiling. She loved the view she got when traveling. It never got old, especially now that these outings were getting scarce. It reminded her of the days before the kingdom when she traveled around often. As Victoria looked down, she thought back to when she first came to the kingdom. Though that day was quite the contrast.

Before the kingdom Victoria was a roaming soul that lived wherever she could, away from people. She lost her parents when she was only 5, and she barely remembered them at all. She was always a bit of a klutz even when she was younger. But overtime the girl grew sharper as she was forced to think on her feet. After all, in the wild, it was survival of the fittest, but being a dragon helped.
Victoria could have lived with the humans, but she knew they feared her too much and had the sense to stay away from them. But one day, she was daydreaming while soaring in her grand dragon form, she unknowingly flew straight into a storm. The winds were too strong, even for her wings. Then she was flung to the ground, losing consciousness. Next thing she remembered, the dragon was laying down in a crowded town square.

When Victoria came too, she tried flying away; however, her wing had been impaled by a temple like building. She cried in pain unable to move. Soldiers surrounded her as she growled with tears in her eyes. Then suddenly queen Taylor appeared as the dragon was awe struck. This brown-haired lady had a look of concern on her face as she approached. Her gaze calmed the dragon right away. The guards told her to stay back, but she ignored them, walking to Victoria. She walked all the way up to the dragon as she reached her hand out. Victoria was scared but her exhaustion let her lower her head in surrender. The queen actually pet the huge dragon, telling her it was going to be ok, and Victoria believed her. The queen ordered the doctors to help the dragoness out. They got her wing out of the building and began treating it right away. After that Victoria passed out.

Soon she woke up in her human form. Later the queen brought her flowers, giving her that delightful smile. Victoria was in the hospital and had been asleep for days. Thats when Victoria and Taylor began to talk and open up to each other. Despite being a dragon, the queen treated her like her equal.

For days while she recovered, the queen would visit and talk with her. To Victoria this was the closest thing she had ever had to a friend. Most of her life, she had been so lonely. It was nice to have someone to talk to and spend time with. Then at last, she was completely healed. However, the queen had a proposal. She offered the dragoness a job in the kingdom. She could be their personal messenger. Apparently, a war was going on and she thought a fast dragon like her could make getting info to her allies easier. In exchange Vic could live in the kingdom and have food and shelter. Victoria accepted her terms immediately as she always wanted a life where she didn't have to worry as much. Also, she felt indebted to the queen for saving her life and treating her like an equal. Like a friend. And from that day on 28 years ago Vic had become the queen’s messenger.

Vic smiled thinking about it all. Then she heard a loud screech. All of a sudden, a big creature began approaching her. She sighed as a wyvern came zooming in.

"Ugh I can’t just have a peaceful flight?" Vic frowned.

Then the girl transformed as her uniform got absorbed into her scales. Vic began to grow in size as she turned into her true dragon form. Vic had black scales covering her body, with huge wings and a long tail. Her snout growled at the creature as it blew fire at her. Vic flew fast as she dodged the fire and tackled the creature head on. Vic smashed the wyvern into the ground as they crashed into the trees. Vic was then thrown off as the dragon landed on her feet. The wyvern blasted fireballs at the dragon. Vic dodged them as she flew in fast at the beast. Then she punched the creature in the face. The wyvern was sent back as he coughed up blood.

Then she uppercut him in the jaw with her strong tail sending him in the air again. While he started falling again, Vic charged her own breath as fire leaked out of her mouth. Then the dragon blasted a huge breath of flames as the wyvern was cooked alive almost instantly. Vic panted but sighed realizing he was going to land on the forest, still on fire. She didn't want to burn down the land, so she flew towards the falling creature. Her long tail whipped him into the lake nearby. Thankfully he landed into the huge body of water. Vic sighed in relief as the dead half cooked wyvern came up floating. The dragon panted a bit from her battle. Then she transformed back into a humanoid again as she rested on a tree branch.

"Phew, I hate having to kill like this. But wyverns never stop until they eat their prey. I need to be more careful when fighting in the forest too… I still got it though haha! Though I might be a bit *huh* late thanks to this. Great," Victoria panted.

After another hour, Vic smiled as she approached the neighboring kingdom. She has to take a couple breaths to catch her wind as flying for 2 hours was a long time. Though she didn't remember a 2-hour flight taking her breath away like this years ago. But she didn’t think about it much. Then again, she did have a fight as well, giving herself some credit. Her tummy growled as she smiled.

"Ugh! I also forgot to eat a quick snack before leaving. Maybe I can get a quick treat at the castle…” She smiled

Victoria landed on the ground as she caught her breath. The king came out smiling. She was a bit late but still came at an acceptable time.

"Hey there Victoria. Good to see you dear."

"Hi, sorry I'm late! I had a rough start to the day," the dragoness smiled.

"It's alright. 7 minutes late isn't too bad at all. I'll take the documents Sydney wanted me to have. The meetings going to start soon," the king stated holding his hand out.

Victoria gave him the papers as he looked them over. Vic was smiling, glad she did another job well done, but she noticed the king was glancing at her body. The dragoness was confused but then remembered as her heart dropped. Her blouse had ridden up again, exposing her belly pooch a bit.

"Say, I think I know why you were a bit late. Have you put on some weight?" the king teased, laughing.

"o-oh um m-maybe,” she blushed. “Deliveries have slowed down lately, so I think so…" Victoria readjusted her clothes to look appropriate.

Kings were known to be rude, but teasing her weight made her very embarrassed.

"Oh, I see. Something looked different about you, and then I saw your uniform wasn't fitting quite right. It's ok dear. Everyone puts on weight every once in a while, especially women, Ha! Well, at least my wife has. Just make sure you don't grow too relaxed though. You still need to do your job after all," the king stated.

"I-I’ll keep that in mind. Well then, I must be going back now," Vic stated.

But her belly growled as she sighed.

"Oh, are you hungry? I can give you some treats if you wish. Should hold you over till you get back to your kingdom," the king smiled.

"Oh, you’re too kind. I almost forgot, I'm famished," Victoria smiled licking her lips, instantly forgetting the king's recent rude remarks.

Soon, after a short trip to the maid's kitchen-quarters and some filling baked treats with drinks, Vic began flying back to her kingdom.

‘Mmm, gosh that’s much better.’ She thought to herself enjoying the feeling of a full stomach.

However, she might have had a bit too much as she held her full belly. She let out a soft burp under her breath as the dragon rubbed her stuffed stomach. Her blouse was clinging a bit tighter as well.

"Oh goodness tha-urp mm excuse me." She remembered she was alone in the sky. “Oh, well that might’ve been a little much, but this flight back should work off that meal.” Vic smiled to herself.
